Bank accounts, track all my money, every day, to the penny.

I started this in the mid 1980s, when I was significantly poorer than I am now. I am utterly convinced this guided me to better money management and now to being quite comfortably placed.

It is such a routine, that I couldn’t stop if I wanted to.

Exactly the same. When I kick the bucket whichever poor sod has too deal with my estate will find full records of accounts and savings etc.

I used spreadsheets, and the excel tools, a lot when I was working. It meant, when I retired someone had them available so that they could continue what I used to do.

Also very useful for keeping golf society records up to date, including payments in and out and for recording scores & handicaps.

Have also used them to keep track of my music collection.

Marvellous invention.

Although I cut my teeth on Lotus 123 and detest all thing Microsoft, I will admit to having been a fan of Excel in my time. Cinema few:

Loads for school - exam results, predicted grades, shoe size. ... vlookups galore!
Loads for lessons - height v arm length etc genetics surveys

At home:

Footie league data for my PlayStation league - who olayed/scored/results/table calculations ... yes ... nerd!

Electricity use appliences around the home / power consumption/ predicted bills

Bank accounts/savings/interest calculations

Plotting frequency v dB when I'm designing my speakers.

DVD database/catalogue (all my disks are in wallets in storage boxes)

Name and address database

Mortgage payoff calculations

Pros / cons with factor ratings when making big decisions

Pump frequency and fan speed v heater air temperature and CO of exhaust while tuning a diesel heater

Ship's log, engine run time

Family tree

Car fuel/mileage/mpg

Head speed v laser power v material v thickness for my laser cutter

Absolutely is - wife is a fan and has been since forever so she knew about One Pace and all that, I'd never sit and watch it otherwise. Watching episodes normally does my head in, it's the most frustratingly paced anime I've ever seen.

When I decided to listen to the top 500 albums of all time per Rollingstone I kept a spreadsheet giving each one my own preference rating. Colour coded of course.

Got 85 albums deep, changed job though and the spreadsheet is lost forever.
