2025/26 Thierno Barry

It’s obviously still early days and I’m not judging his potential long term impact but I’d really just like to see one little moment of something from him that makes you believe he’s got it. Still not happened.
You'll be waiting for him to shine, longer than Everton giving ya a free season ticket! 😄

Well apparently Delap nearly did..

Even a few of the older strikers that were on freebies could have worked or even Mitrovic!

Id have taken Vardy too for a year.. There were plenty of temporary stop gap strikers that had the experience!

Delap was never coming here with Chelsea involved.

Vardy? Yes, plenty of experience.

I think it's 100% fair to both say

1. He looks absolutely garbage at the moment and a gigantic waste of money

and

2. He might have potential to develop into a good player

Everton FC is not the club that can afford to wait around for a £30m signing to turn into a top player when there is nobody else currently better than him in the squad.

Therefore, awful signing.
I wouldn't say he's looked garbage by any means. He hasn't done anything to make me think he looks particularly good, but it's not like he's tripping over his own feet and booting balls out of play left right and centre. He's played the equivalent of 2 games or something, I'm a bit disappointed that he hasn't shown a bit more to get me excited but I can't say that I'd be massively surprised if he turned out to be decent.

Yep. That is pretty much what it is in reality, no matter how much some try and come up with other bits and pieces as for the way he's played. For me i am so far stuck on number 1 that i at this minute after seeing what we have so far that i just cannot see number 2 other than it's so far in the distance that its hard to see

the other striker we we're linked with early in the window , Woltemade ended up being acquired by Newcastle for 80 million. He was able to start scoring immediately as there's a reason he came at a significant price that we couldn't afford. I haven't disregarded Barry yet I think Moyes has to have confidence in him as a player and actually try to establish statics that benefit the striker and give them the opportunity to have chances

The biggest problem with the 'give him time' argument is that we don't really have any due to the fact we're so short in that area. Dibling has barely made an impact but that's of little concern due to the fact that's an area we've got some depth in. If we had a decent striker ahead of Barry, he'd be under a lot less scrutiny.
