2025/26 Thierno Barry

the other striker we we're linked with early in the window , Woltemade ended up being acquired by Newcastle for 80 million. He was able to start scoring immediately as there's a reason y e came at a significant price that we couldn't afford. I haven't disregarded Barry yet I think Moyes has to have confidence in him as a player and actually try to establish statics that benefit the striker and give them the opportunity to have chances
Fee was due to the lateness in the window, as much as I rate the player highly and was pushing us towards him earlier in the summer he isn't worth that sort of money (yet) He might be by the end of the season if all goes well but not atm for me. They have taken a fair bit of stick for what they paid.

Name the player who is coming here that we could afford.

Probably playing tonight. Igor jesus. Watched him in Forests away game at Betis in the Europa league. Thought he looked fantastic. Scored 2. Ran the betis defence all over the place.
He was £10m. Played in their cup games so far. Has 4 goals. Looks a player to me.
The Barry debate is already becoming a bit dull. He needs a run of games quite clearly but i dont think its that mad some people saying they just want to see a glimpse of something along the lines of the forest player mentioned above to wet the appetite.

But in the summer before he played for Forest? I doubt it.

Someone mentioned above is that all we needed to do is spend more money. 70 million pound strikers weren't coming to us over the summer, that's just fantasyland. We couldn't convince a winger from France for half of that to join us because he wanted European football.

But yes, at the end of the day, he needs a run of games. Normally I'd say he should be earning them in training, but Beto has been so bad he should just get them by default at the moment.

He was just an example of a player within our price range that ive seen as an outside observer. He might sink without a trace but he's bagged 4 goals in two cup games and he might be their longer term answer for chris wood. I dunno. Not that interested in forest. I just watched him and was that impressed with him against betis i looked him up. And saw he was £10m.
We payed 15m for Chermiti and i cant even tell you anything about him.
All about better recruitment.

Think everyone needs to reset their expectations if they think £30 million buys you a guaranteed immediate regular goalscorer in the toughest league in Europe.

Everton can't afford to waste £30 million? Well dunno about wasting it but they're going to have to pay it and more across multiple positions every window from here on in as that the way the leagues gone.

Fans will just have to be PATIENT

Being honest the lad has been in and out of the team, with the manager saying he’s not ready yet, what sort of comment is that when the lad needs a confidence booster not a slagging comment, he is a relatively young man in a strange country and it’s only six league games into the season, no he hasn’t got anyone excited up to now but give him a bit of leeway and a lot more backing.
