As I said, inevitable that he scores.

I've been watching football long enough to know that the more people there are spitting venom at him and saying that he should never play for us again, the more likely it is he scores the winner for us today.

You give him far too much credit. If he does score today, it'll be in his own net.

I don't see any of this from him.

He frequently has the ball bounce off of him as much as Beto.

He wins the ball in the air and the headers go nowhere near one of our players.

He's not much better with the ball than Beto at all for me and he's less of a threat than Beto with it.

Imo the only way you could argue these point's is if you're not being particularly objective in your assessment of these two players.

Beto works harder on his day, more effective as a battering ram but on the ball it's night and day between the two. 100% of the actually decent, passing football we've played this season has been with Barry up top.

After today we have 3wks without a game, do you leave him out for things to calm down, or do you possibly throw him in the furnace.

He's literally our joint top scorer? Not long ago he was on 4 goals in 5, including some very good finishes.

Just be honest and say that you absolutely dread Barry doing anything good for us because you can't stand him as a personality.

I'm not saying he's an unstoppable world class striker, but to say that playing him is a waste as he will never score when he's literally our top scorer this season is a bit daft no?

It wouldn't matter if Barry was our top scorer on 2 goals. If it's more than Beto has managed (and everyone else in the squad bar KDH), then what you are saying is obviously objectively incorrect.

Certain people would rather give Beto a 3 week run in the team, try Ndiaye up front, try George up front, try Michael fkn Keane up front before playing playing our TOP SCORER up front at the end of the season where every match is crucial for us to get Europe.

I think it's mad, but each to their own.

It may be, but the tallest dwarf is still the tallest dwarf.

Thats what I don't understand about this debate. If you don't think Barry is good enough fine, I think everyone is expecting a new striker in summer.

Out of the squad that we have available to us right now though there is no better option, that is just the reality. And it's not the time either (at the back end of the season when for once we actually still have something to play for) to start messing around trying experiments with Ndiaye or whoever else.

If you think Beto starting every week gives us a better chance at Europe fine, I definitely don't share that view.
