2025/26 Thierno Barry

This incident will now be viewed by some as the point of no return where he's turned the fans against him with his own actions.

The truth is that most of the people insisting that it's unforgivable and that there's no coming back from this had already decided that they weren't having him a month or 2 into the season and have been complaining since.

My opinion is that if the exact same thing had happened with Ndiaye in place of Barry the reaction from fans would be very different. That's not to say there would be no controversy, but people would certainly be more willing to understand.

The impression I get is that some Blues are buzzing this has happened to Barry as they feel it vindicates their opinion of him. The idea that he will never be accepted by fans will be a self fulfilling prophecy, same as it was with DCL.
Illy wouldn't hit the Socials, and I doubt any other player in the squad would.

Not saying you are wrong about pre-conceived opinions, but that was a bad bad error on his part..

I don't care what he does with his tickets, how he dresses, what social media he is into. all i care about is whether he is a good player for Everton. He's garbage so sell him and whoever else is kak too.

This.

If Barry was leading the line in the manner of a Rom or Big Bob and had knocked 15 or 16 goals so far there would be little talk about his Arsenal shenanigans.

So according to you. Everton conceded a second goal in a game that we all knew was over as soon as we conceded the first goal. Someone got their phone out and this was enough to turn dozens of away evertonians in blood thirsty racists?

Strange, if this did happen. Then why is it such a isolated incident? If the away support is so trigger happy why isnt this happening more often?

Also why isnt there a video of you? Its werid that theres all these videos of people fighting but a lone Evertonian sheilding a family from the reformation of the third Reich. Youd think that would of been recorded.

Ill be honest theres alot of holes in your story here and i think either youve made it up or leaving out/missing a good portion of details.

And for anyone asking why would anyone make that up?

I dont know but what i do know from being on this forum for years is every summer transfer window. Good sensible posters suddenly pretend their ITK for no reason.

If youre proven right, then I'll be more then happy to apologise obviously and accept ive been talking wham. But personally i feel like you're story couldnt be more suspect if it had kevin spacey with a limp in it.

I think I've explained it all pretty clearly tbh. I assume people generally only start videoing anything after they notice things happening. The 2 videos I have seen only start quite a bit after the actual fighting had started, and in turn that was a few moments after the intial confrontation of the lad in my row, who was seen filming the whole ground celebrating the win by those behind him and also by all the fans coming up the aisle to leave the ground... he had his camera held fairly high and was doing a 360°, and people simply assumed he was an Arsenal fan. Initially, that didn't really involve the black lads standing behind the main group of black people (who you see fighting in the vids), but they then reacted to that initial confrontation, presumably because they were with the lad and larger group who were being challenged. They then became the target of the mob who pushed into their row, and there was a bit of a stand-off, followed by lots of pushing and shoving before any real punches were thrown. By the time those videos start, these lads have already been forced several yards away from where they were originally stood (approx seat 620ish, row 13 or 14 (which was near the far aisle in those pictures), just behind me and their friends. By the end of the vids, they were taken out of their row at the next aisle, (the opposite end of their row from where it all started and away from the lad with camera).

Myself and another bloke blocked the end of our row when the lads initially tried to attack the black lad with the camera. Simply trying to stop any fighting and because I thought that they were family/friends of our players (which turned out to be the case) and moreso because there was what appeared to be black family between us and the lad doing the filming (including a woman and her youngster, who looked terrified).... all fairly clearly shown standing next to me in the video from above. Several others nearby also tried to stop it flaring-up, and also from continuing when it eventually did start, as shown in the video.

I didn't say that there were "dozens of blood-thirsty racists" at all, so no need for any exaggerated colourful descriptors or any other rather misplaced third reich or Kevin Spacey references, added for extra effect in your highly speculative post .... but unfortunately, I did hear some racist shouts at the start near me (is anyone really surprised/shocked, if so have you ever been a football match?). It is also nothing like posters speculating about being ITK during transfer windows, (which incidentally I've also never done)... I'm literally in the video standing next to main group of black people, where the whole incident started. I didn't even know about those videos when I made my initial post, and they show how it eventually played out, just as I described. I go to practically all the aways (occasionally even sitting in home sections), and as far as I can remember, I have never commented on any incidents I've seen, and only commented on this one because I was stood right next to the start of it, and not part of the 2nd, 3rd hand or other distant speculations/observations or even the confusion some had with an earlier incident where some actual Arsenal fans were ejected in the first half from a different part of the away section.

For all the rights and wrongs of the situation, the biggest critique of Barry apart from his performance against Arsenal was how quick he was to jump on social media and tarnish our fans until it had been investigated. It has “headlock gate” vibes for me.

I get that he probably wants to defend his friends and family as anyone would but you are a professional footballer and you know an investigation is going to happen so let it take its course and then make your statement.

been enough away games to unfortunately know that @Tom Hughes will be telling the truth about racist shouts. Just like any cross section of society there are idiots.

I still believe Barry has completely miss managed this situation. Not sure I see a way back for him with the fans unless he starts banging them in till the end of season.

If he had been bought from Walsall for 5 or 6 million and had 3 or 4 more goals...
one of my gripes is that Betto been here over 18months ? and Barry nearly 9 months say and neither of them seem to be improving on being able to hold a ball up or improving their first touch is that coaching or lack of or are they just that poor they cant grasp the technique to do it and yes i know some of the crap hit up to them prime Maradona wouldn't be able to control

Beto is not and never has been suited to either Dycheball or a Moyes set up team. Barry has been playing with his shoulder nearly hanging off so the transfer committee have to take a long look at themselves.

Agreed they both dont look suited to our style of play what ever that is but its the lack of basic improvement of being a footballer worries me i guess we can look back over 10-20 years and probably list 5 players that we think actually improved as a player while at the club

I watched Barry a couple of times at Villarreal he's never looked like a hold up player so quite why Moyes ever thought he'd be successful here is a mystery. We shouldn't be paying decent money for players who need coaching to suit our system.
