2025/26 Thierno Barry

That worked well for Lukaku. Lack of muscle and bulk aren't his problems...sorting his feet out and not falling over them needs work first.
His last 2 goals were masterpieces of finese and timing, muscle and bulk nowhere in the picture
Lukaku was already a unit as a teenager though. And once he got his body between the defender and the ball, there was no stopping him.

Barry looks like a brisk breeze would do him.

He’s come on a lot already this season, but he does need to improve physically, which is something the club seem to be working on with him.

Just not too much please, IMO obvs, it's often counter productive
I'm not a fan of muscles for muscles sake

There's a lot to be said again, IMO, for some old fashioned hardscrabble leanness...Yond Barry, he has a lean and hungry look.

I get this is the consensus, and what Everton are doing - but I'm never convinced. I think it's a mentality throw-back.

Only Salah scored more than this fella in the league for Newcastle last season;

I think of Wissa, Watkins etc too.

After seeing the strapping in his shoulder when he threw his shirt to that young fan the other week no wonder he isn't putting himself about,just hope it can be fixed in the Summer.

That's a valid point and he seems to aggravate it once every match too , where he's writhing in pain on the ground from some physical contact.

Did my rotator cuff,it's not fun and he must be getting injections to play every week. If it's a dislocation he'll definitely need surgery in the Summer and we can only hope it's successful otherwise it could end up shortening his career.

I was actually thinking about his injury and I remember people critiquing his form when going for a header I would imagine a dislocated shoulder would possibly impede your form in heading the ball. Yeah it definitely needs to be addressed , also kudos to him for playing through the pain

Tbf, it looks like he closes his eyes when going for a header, and it’s no wonder.

He’s probably wincing in pain.

Nah I get it’s not all about size and mass, but strength is something that’s needed, or rather, learning how to use your body to protect the ball.
