2025/26 Thierno Barry

Needs to keep making runs and start demanding we put the ball in for him. Hes not missing loads of chances so its good hes found a bit of form. His first effort with the outside of the boot was decent and he took his goal well. If he bulks up he could turn into a real monster for centre halves to deal with. I find it really encouraging the improvement hes made so far this season. Looked absolutely lost early on.

Glad he is taking the chances that come to him but he does need to a bit more proactive in attacking the space, more often.

Sometimes he is caught on his heels and struggles to reach a simple ball/cross, or put pressure on the defender, at the very least.

But, definitely happy with the progress he is making.

His ankles will need a foot pump to blow them any bigger :D

….as an aside, I used to play for a team managed by Dave Hickson and I’ve never seen a footballer with bigger ankles than him, they were extraordinary. Presume something to do with the era he played in, when you got the ball out in training he was fearless bordering on being a nutcase, even on a concrete surface 😖

He really needs to work on his strength and back to goal & just protecting the ball.

The "foul" on the edge of the box....for me he should have known the defender was coming...ether by scanning or using his arms to feel him out...he should be digging his feet in the ground to hold the ball up their...

The thing I appreciate about Barry is that he continues to evolve as a player and every game despite still showing some rawness he continues to hone his skills.

Alot of people in here initially claimed he wasn't industrious or devoted enough, I think it demonstrates a lot of diligence to not be deterred by his earlier mediocre performances while he was still adapting to the league

Completely agree. He's shown a lot of mental strength for someone so young and playing in a foreign league.

I think he'd be on double his goals tally right now too if he had anyone out wide who could whip some dangerous balls in the box for him.

I admit I had massive doubts about him but he's dismantling them - not all doubts, but a lot.
