Thought DCL was miles ahead of him in touch, hold up play, winning balls and bringing others into the game. That said, outside of the foot shot and finish for the goal were two moments of quality.

Calvert Lewin is a tidier player who has a better understanding of how to play as a 9 in England, but crucially Barry looks like a more consistent finisher.

DCL hit the post with a very similar chance to the one Barry scored. If anything the DCL chance was easier.

I don't like him as a player.

He is gutless and backs out of challenges.

Great finisher and good at flick ons but useless at battling defenders and holding the ball up.

I agree about the hold up play and he needs to bulk up but that you can coach.A strikers instinct you can't.

Good improvisation with the saved shot, although I’ll need to see it again as not sure he didn’t miss control it so he didn’t have much choice, and great movement for the goal.
Didn’t do much else for me, not interested in the feeding off scraps bit, hold up was non existent, over all positioning I felt wasn’t great either. DCL didn’t get much more to feed off but looked much more involved when they were on the attack.

The DCL comparisons are funny to me but I understand why, Barry is a far better finisher and will score more goals in his career than DCL.

DCL is tidier and knows his role very well, as he should do though, he's years ahead of him and has spent his entire career and development in England.

Barrys first full season compared to DCLS will be a interesting one but I know who I think will go on to have a better goalscoring career and it'll be Barry.

Barrys hold up play is decent but also needs work, he's also playing with a injured shoulder which puts him at a massive disadvantage.

Given time he will become a very good striker for us.

Absolutely anonymous when against that back 3. Didn't win a single header 2nd half, from my recollection. Speaks volumes as he is the best CF in the league, in the air.

DCL put in such a classic DCL performance first half with loads of good number nine hold up play and hard work but ultimately he missed a sitter and Barry took his much harder chance like a fox in the box

Pretty sure DCL’s first few seasons he was playing in lots of different positions like left wing

Agree with all this. DCL's all round play was quite solid. He was clever, strong and occupied our defenders. But he would never have scored from Barry's chance.
