These next few months...thinking with a clear mind at last.

Jesus wept. What is wrong with people? 2 points off 5th and its completely unattainable? Have a word lads. You don't get an award for best pessimist and pessimism is what it is, not "realism". The Wigan game hurt but some people aren't half wallowing in it at the moment. The City game has presented itself at pretty much the perfect time. We need a springboard and this is almost ideal. Seriously people need to cheer the **** up.

Liverpool on a charge Arsenal will have the wind in their sails post Bayern then there's Chelsea, Spurs, City and Utd.

We normally play for half a season usually the second half but it's arse about face this year then add in the manager running his contract down and Felli looking like he's downed tools and the idea of 4th becomes more amusing than usual.

If the stars collide and it happens then Moyes will be forgiven - after Anfield last year the man is untouchable.

I think some need to realise that moaning about how bad our players are five days after the event isn't doing anybody any good.

At this point last year we were in 10th, and ended up finishing 7th. We were five points behind 7th placed Liverpool. But apparently two points off 5th with a game in hand and it is 'impossible'.

After being knocked out and being trophyless for another season they'll have the wind in their sales ?

Honestly, I don't understand why people seem determined to be miserable and right rather than dare to even try and hope. It's a bit warped.

Much rather be positive for a week than be negative for a week. The end result is totally unpredictable either way.
Agreed. I also fancy us to do well from positions where people completely write us off. No expectation usually works for us.

I'm sure that Spurs, Arsenal and Liverpool will all slip up before the end of the season but I don't think we have the legs or the killer instinct to take advantage. Moyes will probably blame it on a tough run in, but I think we'll get a spate of draws and end up just outside the European places. That might be no bad thing though because we're nowhere near equipped to take on an extra competition and it could really hit our league form.

when i read the OP i sort of understood where he was coming from and thought "yeah we have a chance". I scrolled down and somebody mentioned the fixture list. We have no chance really do we

Is right.

But the fact is we've been saying 'the next month is vital' or 'biggest game of the season next' or 'we'll be able to tell more after this' since about January.

It's boring now. This season is a mess.

I think it just shows that literally every single league game is so, so important...if you look back now to the games where we drew but really should've won (newcastle and fulham being the big two) we'd be 4 points better off now and properly in the mix for fourth.

Of course if we got 4th the Wigan game would be forgotten, we wont though, so it wont be.

correct

4th No Chance, - Id forget Wigan,
5th No Chance, - Id forget Wigan
6th, A Chance, and still an improvement from last year.
7th, most likely, no improvement with the so called "best squad we have had in years"
8th, pass that bleach im thirsty

Even with 5th mate? The only thing that can make us forget about Wigan is 4th in my opinion. 5th would get us Europa, which isn't sufficient compensation for missing a genuine opportunity to win the FA cup.
