I hope they’re ready a little sooner. Provided it actually takes place, the next Presidential election is scheduled for 2028
The GOP will be in flux soon after the mid-terms in 2026 as the successors try to carve out their niche being uber-Trumpian for distancing themselves a bit.

It depends on what you mean by left and right.

The Democrats didn't lose working class votes b/c of economic issues. That might be what those voters are saying, but what they mean is the Democrats lost them on social issues. Cultural issues. Them's the facts.

Democrats can move to the center on those issues while still taking a non-negotiable stance on things like no tolerance for nazis, racism, etc, etc. Democrats shouldn't be dying on the hill for boys at birth playing girls' sports in my opinion - it's such a niche issue it's just noise and makes Democrats look like they don't understand common sense.

We will have to agree to disagree on the economic front. Democrats never win on policy/economic type arguments b/c this stuff is more complicated and less based on emotion. While it's obvious to many that unregulated capitalism run amok will ultimately hurt the working class, their voters don't see it that way.
Wages were falling in relation to the cost of living in Biden's term. The economy might have been doing ok, but the trickle down didn't happen.

Only because of global inflation that was getting under control by the last year of his term.

That's not exactly a winning soundbite in 2024 (although it's true)

And that trickle down problem you describe most certainly won't be addressed by GOP policies.

The GOP just said yeah we hear you, things are bad. Blame Biden! Problem solved

I've just stated above that the GOP and whichever candidate they put up in 2028 will be easy meat to a Democratic Party that vows to clean up the massive levels of poverty that will be the result of Trump's second term.

What they cant afford to do is get the next choice of candidate badly wrong.

Over the weekend, as California, Oregon, Washington, and other Western states moved closer to completing their counts, Trump’s percentage of the popular vote fell below 50 percent. And his margin of victory looks to be much smaller than initially anticipated. In fact, of all the 59 presidential elections since the nation’s founding, it appears that—after all of the 2024 votes are counted—only five popular vote winners in history will have prevailed by smaller percentage margins than Trump.

Apply in Germany, France or another country en route...

...if theyre genuinely in fear for their life.

Could you imagine being in genuine fear and wanting to claim asylum in a safe place...but instead forget that and decide to take a life risking ordeal by paying criminals to put you in a packed dinghy.

I cant relate to someone in fear for their life....not taking the asylum option somewhere and instead risking their life.

Nonsensical.
You're a tit. An ignorant tit.

Isn't what you sent suggesting in terms of trickle down economics better known as Reaganomics?

Maybe, instead of focusing on physical barriers, he should’ve worked on breaking down the real barriers that prevent refugees from finding safety. If anything, the wall "he built" wasn’t just along the border it was built into the system itself."

Do you even know America blud?

That's not happening.
The Democratic Party will always be a capitalist party, but they need to reconnect with what they were in terms of regulation of capitalism as well as the advance of social justice.

I think you've become hung up on labels there. If I'd meant the Democrats morphing into the Social Democratic Party of America I'd have said so.
