I agree to an extent and appreciate these pages are largely self regulated. However misinformation or querying of sources is generally pulled up on by other members, no matter what their political position is or whether they wish to believe the information is true or not. It’s something I like and respect as I’m sure others do too.
By not showing any accountability for posting proven and dangerous misinformation, this poster is not operating within the liberal spirit of these pages imo.
Of course they are trolling to a degree, but people will continue to feel the need to respond ad long as this continues.

It is honestly hard to tell how ordinary folks are reacting, probably most of his voters will give him a honeymoon period and the right wing press are very keen on “Big win for Trump, take that wimp Trudeau” etc.

Some of the things he is doing will hurt his own voters most and so logic would say he’d lose support from them. However during his first term there were a bunch of farmers who got bankrupted by his trade war with China who were still MAGA diehards even then so who knows, partisanship can be a hell of a drug.

There have been at least 5 “reasons” expressed for the tariffs in the last 48 hours - many of which directly contradict each other!

The best way for the Canadians to stop this talk is to say ok, but we want it as three states (not one) with full political representation - senators, reps etc plus two Supreme Court justice picks of their choice - and French being made an official language of the US.

I don't know why our provinces and territories would agree to singular representation. Quebec already has a big enough issue with that.

Then there's no way each province and territory gets statehood. This is all just posturing for quick wins for his base imo.
