The 'worst' birthday

I have loved all my birthdays. I'm getting older every second so I'm not going to hate a date people buy me drinks or give me money.

My first child is due on my birthday next year. Could hate having to share my cake if that happens I suppose.

I think with the age aspect of the saying, "growing old is a privilege not everyone gets to share."

To keep more on topic I can imagine 99 being tough thinking you could drop just before the last milestone birthday you could have.

The age - if any - when you think ffs.

30 is a bad'un isn't it?

Are you on the ale, youngster? The worst birthday is the one you don't get to celebrate. (shuffles off)

How did he end up a blue?
Me and his big bro were always watching football on TV so he knew it was great even before he could speak.
We had a game on one night. He toddled up to the screen and kept pointing at it. We worked out he liked the team in Blue.
As they were Chelsea I stamped that out straight away but he was adamant he liked a blue team. First acceptable option that came to mind; Everton. Neither he or I have ever regretted it....(well maybe him once or twice)

My 60th. The wife drove me round all places that I had lived or been connected with in the city of Edinburgh, including my birthplace - a maternity hospital - which is now an old folks' home, but is still the same fine old building.

We were taking a pic outside the front doors when a lady in uniform came out and asked us our business. I explained I'd been born there 60 years before etc etc.

Oh well, said she, we look forward to having you back here some day.

Made me proper smile this ;)

30 was quite traumatic, life begins at 40 is true. Once you forge past 50 you learn the art of generally being more abusive and getting away with it. Being older is ace in the main.
