Current Affairs The WOKE

Wow, a whole thread of the woke discussing the woke…I’m impressed……

It seems to be a whole thread of people who don’t consider themselves ‘woke’ pointing at things they don’t like and shouting “Woke!”, then the people who the non-woke, consider to be woke, asking the non-woke what the definition of the word ‘woke’ is, then the non-woke not being able to answer it.

Hope that clears that up.

If you don’t like this horribly complicated paragraph, I suggest you shout “Woke” at it.

See, this is actually part of the problem and one of the reasons why the question is asked. There is a wide range of beliefs as to what woke is, the percentages are nowhere near definitive of anything, i.e. in the 90% of the population think that x is woke. There are also people out there that think that the Daily Mail is woke, if we take the literal definition then that is amazingly out of touch, if we take their own interpretation then it may actually be more logical, even if others don't see it the same way. There might be a case of agreeing with certain parts of their interpretation.

All we are asking is, in their own words, what is woke to them. It is really not a hard question, if there is no definable point to what woke is, for that person, then own up to it, if there is then own up it.

Good stuff. Hadn’t seen this. As an analyst I like some good data to pour over.

Biggest takeaways are that 60% don’t know what it means. 30% have never heard the term.

The things and people that are most considered woke, are the things and people that conservatives don’t like.

This is it. For the purposes of a discussion you can define anything any way you want.

That survey posted said that of the people who said the understood the term, 39% said “supporting racial equality” is woke.

So, if someone asks me if you’re woke, and that’s their definition, you can engage on those terms.

Sadly most who use the term, aren’t willing or able to put a definition to their argument.

The original post of this thread asked "Who are they??? What do they do???"

I have helped to answer this question. They include psycho leftists in educational institutions setting an appalling example to others and young people. Rather than trying, yet again, to target me, you are free to provide an answer of your own. I hope to add many more in the months and years ahead 🙂
If that's the definition, fair play I'm anti-woke too.

At least now I will be able to see if anyone labelled woke has been mislabelled.

Well there is a definition of ‘an awareness of racial injustice’ bandied about. While this is a fine definition it is apparently evolving into ‘an awareness of social and racial injustice’ . Personally I would describe ‘woke’ as being overly sensitive…but no doubt everyone will see it differently…..

You'd describe yourself as WOKE then?
