No he didnt mate.

You need to go and read up on the stuff you say.

George Orwell was a committed socialist and anti-fascist all his life. He went to fight for the international brigades in Spain, and actual antifa (not the lentil waving hippies that seem to trigger everyone today). He famously remarked on his experiences "that the only way to debate with a fascist is with a bullet through the back of his head".

He was vehemently clear in what needed to happen when faced with fascism, but also had the ability to be critical of regimes that had veered off from their socialist course.

Unfortunately you've got no idea what fascism is, and are one of many people who misuse the term to substitute for people you dont like. Just because you dont like someone, doesnt make them a fascist.

You are the establishments mouthpiece. You come up with nonsense that is aimed to distract from people trying to help make the world a better, more equal place. The other day you were defending peadophiles because they were right wing. You slander socialists trying to fight for a better world. You misquote/misunderstand Orwell. I doubt its deliberate, and theres no polite way of saying it, other than to point out that you are the establishment in what you argue.

And that's fine too, but you just need to be aware of it.

And I say all of the above in the context of having quite profound difficulties with all of the above (anarchists, hope not hate, Orwell) etc, but at least being able to understand that any criticism levied against all groups has to have some grain of accuracy to have any modicum of value. Essentially I have the maturity to criticise antifa while knowing they are not fascists, because I'm not 12 and realise that a fascist is not just somebody I dont like.

I love people who 'quote' Orwell but haven't read any of his books, it's incredible how wrong they get it. So embarrassing

This doesn't change the label being both non-factual and abysmal marketing.

If we are to solve the problem, we need to discuss the actual problem. Doing it the other way just leaves a hole for people to choose to swim through, if they are so inclined.

I think this is kinda true and that the concept of white privilege is now so misunderstood and toxic that it’s pretty much meaningless.

But I can’t help also thinking that the same problem has happened with the ‘Black Lives Matter’ slogan, as well as the ‘Defund The Police’ idea.

All these labels and slogans, had pretty clear meanings and concepts attached to them, but have had their original intent stripped away from them, and a different meaning substituted in it’s place, so the ideas they originally were communicating has been lost.

Either the people who came up with these labels are just really bad at marketing, or some people are trying really hard to misunderstand, and misconstrue so that it becomes impossible to talk about the ideas.

You have been brain-washed into believing that "white privilege" means anyone white. The truly privileged - Eton, Rugby etc are laughing all the way to the bank while people like you point the finger at people who were press-ganged and subjugated for generations.
I`ll bet you even think "minorities" are anyone who isn`t white when the fact is whites make up about 1/8 of the global population.

#BlameTheWhiteWorkingClass

White privilege was the term that I was responding to, has nothing to do with my overall belief of what other privilege exists, as mentioned, just responding to one poster who used that one phrase.

I certainly don't believe that privilege stops at just one race or ethnicity, there are thousands/millions of different cultures in this world and some will have a more equal society and some will have a more imbalanced society. There is actual facts that, in most western cultures, African/Caribbean slavery happened and therefore if you were white you were privileged. Luckily we live in a society where this is not only frowned upon but there are laws, if you read my whole post you would have seen that I differentiated the past from the present, so I am certainly not brainwashed but I am not naïve enough to think that some ethnicities are subjugated, including white people.

Also, why would I think that only non-whites can be minorities, where does it indicate that this is my belief? I mean the literal definition of a minority is less instances of something happening, my job is maths and data analysis so it would be pretty silly of me not to know the definition of the word minority. I mean I truly understand that if I go to certain parts of africa, I will the minority, or an island that is just little people, I will also be the minority.
