The West Ham Thread

Posted yest there was a west ham fan on radio yest and i think it was jason cundy said you had a safe pair of hands in Moyes but drove him away. The fella rolled his eyes and started blabbering about they were concededing to many blah blah blah. They finished 9th lol. Every single west ham fan i hear is the same regarding Moyes. He was to negative. Well you got your Graham Potter sexy football manager. That worked out well.
Its west ham so im not overly that interested but looking in from the outside the fanbase should have concentrated fully on the owner. There is a real possibility right now if they hadnt ran Moyes out of town they'd be sitting mid table with no relegation fears while they tried to get the dodgy owner out. Imo they went for the person who was holding it together coz since he's left its fell apart.
They did but he's also the safest pair of hands whose aim is 9th. I don't begrudge teams wanting to progress, as we will be the same very soon, but it's important to strike a balance rather than lump it all on someone for 1 good thing they did - like we did with Martinez. We're also conceding too many too, especially at home, so I can see the truth to that too. Potter was a mental appointment in my opinion, but a bit less mental then Lopetegui before him - so as you said, owners are/were mental to do that anyway and should be the target of criticism.

I'm also glad they ran Moyes out of town as he's the safe pair of hands we need in turn, so it worked out well (for us, their downfall is funny, personally).

Fans on radio are always mental anyway, ours aren't any different most of the time to be honest - it's usually some proper unhinged individuals who get through to live broadcasts

Always a soft spot for West Ham through family ties, on my Dad's side.

I always say to my Mum that I would have probably been a West Ham fan if we didn't move from Essex, as my Dad probably would have taken me to Upton Park and I would have fell in love with that first experience of football, but I was chosen to be on a different football fan path :)

Thought they were a little unlucky last night, nothing went for them at all in that 2nd half.

On Nuno this one. Shouldn’t be going down with attacking players like Summerville Paqueta Fernandes Bowen.

Its why ive not wrote them off yet.

Sure up that defence and find a win soon and they're back in it. Wouldn't back them like but just not totally writing them off.

As for players who have been relegated though, I recall routinely mentioning we had a front 3 of players who'd all been relegated with McNeil, Doucoure and Harrison and saying no wonder we aren't scoring baseline of goals. Bad times.

I only saw the 3 minute highlight package so probably wrong.
Were they a bit hard done by var last night ?. Thought the goal chalked off was good ,and should be left alone.
Is that a penalty ?....not for me, all players attacking the ball.
No real sympathy for WHU, watched our lads do them 2-0 at their place a few years back, Gomes was a Rolls Royce that day. Horrible venue, don't see a way back for them.

Talk about tempting fate

They're on 6 points having lost 16 games of 20, conceding 40 goals.

I read they're currently the worst Premier League team ever - after 20 games, even Derby County in 2007/08 had more.

We host them at home in an evening kick off - I'm personally very confident. We should beat them, and I think we will.
Forgive me boss man, but this was to tempting to pass up.

Get Nuno some adequate CBs this window and they could be ok, not sure why they have gone for two strikers like.

That todibo is horrendous, and mavropanos is gash - no doubt we will sing one of them when Michael Keane finally fecks off.

In my opinion they were very hard done by. The offside was offside but in real time and without VAR then it would have been mentioned that it was close, but correct to give the goal. A different line and a different day and who knows.

It was not a penalty, 2 players going for the ball, it is deflected and they both miss. It is the hand that confuses the ref and it is very weak that he did not overrule VAR with that nuance and context, but that is the game today.

Added to this, I felt that a lot of 50/50s went Forest's way as well, during the 2nd half.

I agree. I watched the highlights afterwards and had to rewind multiple times to even see where the offside was supposed to have taken place. I'm still scratching my head. As for the penalty, well, as a former amateur keeper, all I can say is this is modern football. What was once an honest coming together with players trying to play the ball is now deemed an assault and subject to multiple, salacious slow motions. Once you deny referees the chance to make decisions on the basis of intent, you end up with trial by television. And that's what happened there last night. West Ham should have had a goal for 2-0 and not conceded a penalty.

Very unlucky,pre VAR that's a 2-0 win.
