5th round worth a watch even if you don't follow MMA. Amazing.

Yes very surprised. Lawler really struggled with the Condit style and gameplan. Unbelievable fifth round to savour. Two strong men indeed.

All hinged on that third round. Highlights again how the judging system needs a revamp. Condit had Lawler badly, badly hurt in the 4th and vice versa in the 5th - how can them rounds carry the same weight as the third which was, as the cards show, very debatable? Stupid really.

Also strange how the card has Condit weighing 165 when he weighed in at 169. Probably an honest mistake, but a strange one.

Think it was more of a gift to Lawler than a robbery of Condit, great fight though.

As much as I love Lawler, he's very lucky to still be champ. Think Hendricks beat him in the 2nd fight, Macdonald was beating him on the judges score card before the finish, and Condit probably edged him

Seems bizarre to have 10-9 rounds only in that fight, especially when you also consider strike volume. Not convinced by the call, but great to watch

Gotta feel for Condit, it was by no means a 'Holyfield style' robbery but he certainly should have gotten the nod.

Lawler is a fun fighter to watch cos he turns the fights in to battles but he surely has the most insecure belt right now out of all of the Champs (edit. apart from DC, as Jones will take that belt back). As @FTY said, he's rode his luck a few times.

I think they'll do a rematch for sure.

Do you think more judges could solve the judging issue? Like if they had 3 sets of 3 judges to form a triangle of sorts across the Octagon? Or is it just a flaw with the rule set? Cos for me I've seen it live a few times and boxing as well and being ringside isn't always the best view , especially when they're on the other side of the ring/cage fighting. But if they had more judges looking from different positions maybe as a short term solution it could help.

Need to scrap the 10 point system tbh, doesn't work in MMA
