It’s an absolute disgrace what this government has done

You can just stop there Pete to be fair.

The Navy is your bugbear I get it, but:

Their underinvestment in the nation as a whole is an absolute disgrace.
Their cavalier attitude to the very idea of prudent governance is an absolute disgrace.
Their promoting of cranks into cabinet positions based on loyalty is an absolute disgrace.
Their repeated allowing of Party infighting to detrimentally affect all our lives is an absolute disgrace.
Their circling the wagons around habitual sex pests is an absolute disgrace.
Their demonising of society's most downtrodden workers is an absolute disgrace.
Their invention of 'Wokery' as a threat to 'British Values' is an absolute disgrace.
Their intractability with underpaid public sector workers is an absolute disgrace.
Their obsessive chicanery over Rwanda whilst vulnerable people die in the Channel is an absolute disgrace.
Their secret partying during the Covid lockdowns was an absolute disgrace.
Their flagrant lying to the powerless monarch was an absolute disgrace.
Their attempt to immediately overturn their own purposely-flawed "oven-ready" Brexit deal, having campaigned on it to win power, was an absolute disgrace.
Their impoverishing us all by chasing the Brexit dragon to a position where they need to antagonise our nearest and most crucial trading (& security) partners?

Disgrace.

Disgrace.

An absolute disgrace to the nation whilst they've lined their own pockets and laughed at us all for not being able to collectively see through their act and vote them into oblivion.

Oh and one last fun one, their securing of a cool £120k per annum out of our pockets and a raft of Lords appointments for an absolute madlass who took a wrecking ball to the UK economy and swanned off into her own personal la-la land before even a standard probationary period at a minimum wage job would have been completed?

Obviously we can also go back to before the 2019 election and start listing more things from the previous NINE years of Tory misrule, but I've travelled about 500 miles today for a funeral so have run out of puff.

Pete, I know you're a selfish drunkard and so won't agree all of those have even happened, but just to have you on our side on at least one of them might at least notch a chink in that "I'm alright Jack" armour that you wear, and maybe move you towards understanding that you've been hoodwinked into cheerleading for a bunch of gangsters taking as much as they can from the nation's coffers and giving it to their mates.

We can't protect the nation's waters with Michelle Mone's yacht alone. Maybe keep that in mind next time your pencil hovers over your ballot paper.

First in for the 'like'. Wish I'd written it. Pulverised.

Couples of things… First, condolences for whoever’s funeral it was, these things are always emotional and draining. Second, I agree with most of what you wrote. Third I am neither selfish nor a drunkard….

I see that idiot Grant Shapps is proposing scrapping still workable ships because of a manpower shortage. Now here’s a new idea, why not get off your arse and recruit some more sailors into the navy. We are not fighting many wars on the ground, nor indeed in the air. In fact the only potential issues are with sea trade lanes both in the far east and the Middle East. We all know the man is an idiot but ffs…….
Just another job now , you used get a pension at 38 if gone in at 18, now it's 67... Who wants to serve your country that is considered just as important any other job on civvy street.
Another "Capita" fiasco incoming and its billion £s recruiting Navy contract the Tory government has dished out.

Personally I think the Tory Government have played a blinder on this issue as they have in terms of illegal immigration, they have turned the country into an elitist [Poor language removed] hole that less people want to come here and no body would want to invade us.
