Welcome back Wayne
I see that idiot Grant Shapps is proposing scrapping still workable ships because of a manpower shortage. Now here’s a new idea, why not get off your arse and recruit some more sailors into the navy. We are not fighting many wars on the ground, nor indeed in the air. In fact the only potential issues are with sea trade lanes both in the far east and the Middle East. We all know the man is an idiot but ffs…….

Something about low taxes and Malone's down a pub and dodgy contracts. Kerching!

The whole military is on its arse because the tories have turned it from a decent career, with a great pension, to a thankless task with crap wages (due to several pay freezes and 1% pay rises over the last 13 years).

They’ve also cut the numbers right down which means that people have to work away much more often, which then put strain on their family life and resulted in people leaving.

Then there is the disgusting quality of military housing, which isn’t fit for prisoners to live in and was also rejected by Environmental Specialists when it was inspected for asylum seekers to live in it.

Then there is the standard of food, that was privatised so is no longer under the control of the military and means the food portions got smaller, quality reduced significantly and prices go up every year despite wages not going up.

So in response to your moan about the Royal Navy, it is down to the government that you voted for and support, that we are in this predicament.

Grant Shapps my least favourite tory.
The man is a complete idiot, everything he touches turns to disaster.

They privatized recruitment as well, which is a fact that may be of some relevance here.

Defence housing is a massive scandal that both parties should be ashamed of (the Tories for selling it off and Labour for allowing it to continue).

Ironically Johnson was trying to fix it - there was a test case of compulsory purchase of one or two of the sold-off homes, but I've not heard an update from it in ages. The company that bought them (Annington) has already made billions and is going to take a big chunk of the defence budget if not stopped.

Don’t forget have cut all our allowance and done away with commitment bonuses which used to help with retention. The real reason that they are looking at decommissioning those ships is quite simply they are [Poor language removed].

That must be why they scrapped doing them 40 new Hospitals, due to a shortage of Doctors and Nurses...think Pete's saw the light...
