Spent far too much time watching stuff like this last night, I need a hobby.Being serious? If so, if a strike from Vlad was likely, any sea worthy subs will be underwater, and the nuke ones will both be armed and ready. And somewhere.
First strike would be the Pentagon, followed by GCHQ anyrate.
The GCHQ one would knacker me, but what can you do?

We simulate a naval battle with US and UK carrier strike groups versus China and Russia. Aircraft involved are F-35 Lightning C and B variants, Mig-29KR and J-15B. Major missiles involved are YJ-21 Hypersonic, YJ-18 and P-800 Oniks Supersonic, Naval Strike Missile and LRASM stealth anti-ship missiles.
That's a relief, cheers mate. The F35s dominate and the good guys win.
HMS Barton anyone?Imagine being the poor Type 45 that looked at your sister ships called Daring, Defender, Dragon, Diamond and Dauntless, and you end up as... Duncan.
Also where did all the cool ship names go? Victory (I'm aware that's still a commissioned Naval vessel), Indefatigable, Leviathan, Conquerer, Colossus, Revenge, Thunderer, so on. Is it those damn Wokies to blame again? Is the Navy too Woke to want violent-sounding ship names now?
Perhaps it's one we'll have to outsource to a foreigner?
Hybrid role.Makes you wonder what HMS Trent does.

At least no one can get sanctioned if they don’t apply for it like they would if it was up in the job centre I suppose…This is the way to motivate and develop senior officers…not…
Telegraph…
“The Royal Navy has been forced to use LinkedIn to advertise for a Rear-Admiral to be responsible for the nation’s nuclear deterrent amid a growing recruitment crisis.
No serving sailors are suitable to replace Rear-Admiral Simon Asquith, the current Director of Submarines, and the Navy has turned to the professional networking site to find his successor.
Defence sources told The Telegraph they hoped to attract a retired officer who commanded a submarine during their naval career to the £150,000-a-year, two-star position.
The advertisement says candidates must be a member of the reserves or have previously served in the regular forces and, if chosen, will be responsible for “highly classified stealth, elite operations and Trident, our nuclear deterrent”.
Now that is a derivative version of 'the office' I'd love to see....At least no one can get sanctioned if they don’t apply for it like they would if it was up in the job centre I suppose…
