Ok Mikel is likely to be out for sometime, which is a massive blow admittedly. But i just wanted to mention a few pluses.

- I thought todays performence wasnt as bad as people make out, if we had been a little more clinical we could have won, Newcastle deserved a point today, they were up for it and well organised. Cas, Rodders, and Gosling all put very promiseing performences for me.

- Saha is back and looked hungey when he came on.

-We have passed the yellow card amnesty so Lescott and Neville will not be suspended if they pick up another Yellow.

- Jack Rodwell is a very special player, i think we may have a future international captainin our side! * Hear he has an Irish grandmother!

I agree with the last two, but I don't think being clinical would've made much difference today as we didn't create the chances.

- We'll have Cahill & Hibberterio back from suspension next week.

- Saha, Osman, and Fellaini are getting/are healthy.

- We've got Jo for the rest of the regular season matches.

- We've got Davey Moyes as a manager

We had two shots of note. And I don't think you can say that on their day Rodwell and Yobo could've been more 'clinical' about them. One was a difficult header that had a great save, the other was never gonna get past the people on the line.

When you say being more clinical, it makes me think more along the lines of taking the kind of chances that Loevenkrands got.

Out of the below pool we've a number of options of how we can set up, for the majority of the rest of the season. Weve shown we can live without key players including Mikel in the past.

Osman
Castillo
Neville
Pienarr
Van Der Meyde
Fellaini
Cahill
Rodwell
Neville
Gosling.

I think we had 7 shots on targets, 5 in the first half and two in the second.

I'm not too down because I expected it, especially when Arteta went off. I knew we weren't going to break Newcastle down and it was a case of hoping for a decent set piece.

We looked very average to be honest but it’s expected, especially with our injuries. Anichebe and Arteta going off made us unbalanced and three defensive midfielders is a big no, no. I’d have personally brought Van der Meyde or Saha on instead of Castillo but that’s just me, to be fair to Castillo he looked solid.

Hopefully with Saha, Jo, Pienaar, Hibbert, Osman and Cahill in and around the squad we’ll be able to push on. I think it’s just a case of finding the right balance, we can still have a decent season.

Arteta is still a massive blow though, he’s the one player who we simply couldn’t afford to lose, he makes us tick and our football is much better with him in the side. We’ve coped with losing him in the past but it’s different now, his influence is far greater in the middle and he’s been at his best for the past few months.

Few positives, but clean sheet, Yobo got some playing time, Rodwell is looking better and better - along with Gosling. And Neville avoided getting a Yellow card.

You sure mate i heard a few of the commentators saying that some will escape suspensions after the weeked games.

Surely if it goes by the month its unfair that some teams will play Sat 28/2 and others will play Sun 1/3.

Just the way it is mate, Tyler was talking about it on the tv. He said Everton have 1 more game to get through but newcastle dont play till the 1st so there ok now
