Post-Olympics and some time in the near future there'll be a retrospective judgement on a lot of this. Four seconds on another elite squad over 3,000M?

The Americans got a lucky draw, the bronze winning time was quicker than the silver time, I'm not sure if 4th place was quicker than silver too.
We had the holy trinity, three players so in sync it was as though they belonged to a hive mind. The coaching, training, and selection has brought a level of synchronicity never seen at track cycling before in the history of the sport. One day all teams will do what this GB team does. There is something similar to be said for the rowing. What is amazing about the cycling is, that all through Europe except Britain is cycling lauded as one of the toughest most revered sports an athlete can compete in.
Gladly, the tide seems to have turned.

Let's be honest, all the top sports stars are taking drugs ( legal and illegal ones )

They will always be ahead of the anti doping team.

Sad but true, personally I would have no drug testing and say everything is fair game.

Thorpe has allowed his samples to be cryogenically frozen so improvements in dope testing in the future will allow his specimens to be tested and him proven a clean athlete. Clean athletes do exist, it is just the rogue cheats that taint ENTIRE COMPETITIONS. Even Entire Generations. So sad.

These games have proved we need to get more swimming sorted, wern't ther supposed to be free swimming for everyone by 2012, i suppose the Government cut that.

Not just to get us better Olympic swimmers, but the health benefits as well.

Some parts of society (those on and that watch Jeremy Kyle) as so chock full of suet they would sink, the types of people liable to drown if they get a mild sweat on. Let the obese go the way they have chosen.

They're lucky that there are so many medals in it, and the chance for athletes to compete for 3, 4, 5 medals each.

In fact of the state's 21 golds, 14 are from swimming events and of their 41 medals, 27 are from swimming events. That's just silly.

Am I the only one who is watching GB ladies losing?

I saw the lasses lose in the hockey earlier, yet another facial injury. Her with the fractured jaw was playing after surgery a few days ago, but one lass today go the ball pelted at her almost point blank - possible fractured cheek bone. Hope shes alright.

my brother's a ST holder aswell even though he's a toffee 1st like me (said he wanted to jump in the away end during the game at the liberty), but i think he has more affection to the swans than me. there was some great banter in the north bank when i use to go, but got some of the fans are thick, and don't have a great knowledge of football (as shown by brian swan). the clubs has advanced too quickly for the fans imo, as you could see by going on the terrible forum of planet swans
