Welcome back Wayne
Love it, can we still say 'Huns' and 'Jap's'?
This is a ‘woke free’ zone, so yes…..

Not forgetting we wiped our arses using the newspaper that had was wrapping up the hot food. Proper recycling!
Small picture is what we called the Bandstand. It was just at the back of the boating lake. Don't recognise the larger picture. In Walton Hall Park there was a building which separated the boating lake and the 'children's lake' but that building had flat terrace areas on top where people could sit out. It was also a Cafe. Never saw that building open though as it was closed throughout the war and after.
They used to have fairly regular shows on the Bandstand and quite a few people in attendance.

I shuddered ten years ago when I entered my sixties thinking things would start dropping off and the slow but inevitable descent into old age began. In general things haven't been too bad at all.Getting old you are reminded you sound just like Victor Meldrew lol
I don't believe he will lolI shuddered ten years ago when I entered my sixties thinking things would start dropping off and the slow but inevitable descent into old age began. In general things haven't been too bad at all.
Here I am those ten years later, and I shudder once more as I enter my seventies with an even larger conviction that within five years my meaningful life will be over.
One question though, do you think Gbamin would have played a full game for us before it happens?
Tommytowne, if it's any consolation, things didn't start to go south until I was 83. For the two years since then there are lots of things I can't do. Can't do things that require bending down low (back problem). Can't do things that require reaching up (neck problem). Can't walk far (knee problem). Brain still works reasonably so have to work out compromises.I shuddered ten years ago when I entered my sixties thinking things would start dropping off and the slow but inevitable descent into old age began. Well I'm hoping one part of my body can go north for a few years yet!Tommytowne, if it's any consolation, things didn't start to go south until I was 83. The most frustrating thing is the time it takes to do everything.
85 now and 86 early in the new year. Doesn't time fly?Well I'm hoping one part of my body can go north for a few years yet!
You've had a far more varied life than me so getting to 83 is good going.
Not a chance, he's done...well for us anywayI shuddered ten years ago when I entered my sixties thinking things would start dropping off and the slow but inevitable descent into old age began. In general things haven't been too bad at all.

It’s amazing how often the key was ‘lost’ when a neighbour asked to use the phone.Just been to The Museum of The Home, who else had a phone with a lock on it ?
