half a dollar......the dollar was 4 to the £.......
Sorry to quote myself but I timed out on the editEven in the late 60s you could have a quiet thursday night out - 5 pints or so with 10 bob.

Still can't get my head around this Centigrade nonsense, when someone tells me it's 80 degrees Fahrenheit,I know it's hot.

I think if you double the farenheit number, then add 20, you get the rough equivalent.
KM to miles is X 8 then divide by 5.
Don't you mean 'double the centigrade number'?
Dunno if I am honest. The lower ones they use on telly, double them and add 20 gets you the scorchio numbers the tabloids love.

Forget the numbers. If you're sweating, it's hot. . . . . . . . . . . . . . or the rent man is knocking.Still can't get my head around this Centigrade nonsense, when someone tells me it's 80 degrees Fahrenheit,I know it's hot.

Oh for heaven's sake. Look, a good rule of thumb is that the old 61" is the same as the new 16".Still can't get my head around this Centigrade nonsense, when someone tells me it's 80 degrees Fahrenheit,I know it's hot.
