My late father by accident burnt my pay-packet after me coming back from a block week of training in Preston I put it on the fire pace unopened & he trew it on the coal fire £14 & I got the coins 75p -….never had one of these, started in the Civil Service in 1975 and even then we got paid by cheque. They did give staff an extra 30mins on our lunch to go and cash them![]()
