The Oldies Thread

I'm in Liverpool on Monday night to see OMD in their 40th anniversary tour. 40 years!!!!!! The first time I saw them was October 1979 at Liverpool Uni Freshers Ball. As I said before 40 bloody years!!! And I still love them.

I had a similar experience taking my lad to see AC/DC in Birmingham a few years back. I first saw them as a kid in 1981, and the audience walking to the arena resembled an accountants meeting rather then the one I was in at the Bristol Colston Hall gig many years earlier.

Love it! I'm taking my 22 year old daughter - the other half couldn't get the time off ( he is on night shift next week) Went to see Midge Ure recently. The nice lady in the seat next to me was sharing sherbet lemons with everybody. This is what it has come to when the Ultravox fans are sharing sherbet lemons!

Me and me lad just couldnt stop giggling at the mid 50s bloke in front of us doing a full on air guitar job for the whole gig!

I remember seeing the two of them sitting in The Augustus John before The Bunnymen played in Mountford Hall, must have been around 1979 as well.

Had a real "who's on first" moment at home when the missus started taking about Andre Gomez junior. Turns out she thought that Son was son. And the Coleman comforting son was bringing Andre Gomez junior for a McDonalds. :)
