Can't you get a slightly later or earlier flight and get to either the Spurs home or Leicester home game?

In my fit of rage i hadnt even considered it, you my friend are my hero... i am in Iceland until the the 23rd but i can just bring everything forward two days and watch that and then brighton away... have to show her a win too lol

Thankyou so much haha

Now the only other issue is i want to watch Barcelona live but they are shocking at releasing fixture lists... crazy thing is during my research El Classico falls around that time normally and then at absolute worst Copa Del Ray QF, then if i miss that i have allowed time in Munich

Great start, but we really need to not have a bad first half to the season, because the last 12 games are brutal.
Exactly. Christmas reinforcements feel very important this year, given age of Jags, Baines, Roo and any potential recurrence of injury to Seamus. Still can't see a natural leader in our team at the moment beyond Seamus, either.

That's a pretty good start to the season.
  • Us vs wolves is not a gimme - we'll be a pretty different side, so will they and in good spirits with a steadier team
  • Saints we have a decent record against at ours. Hughes will likely try and continue toughening them up with a bit of firepower, but like us they have a squad not massively affected by the World Cup.
  • Bournemouth away fairly early on is ok, too. The weather should still be great and the previous games have been 'eventful'.
  • So, with the next bunch of games being a lot of other mid-table fodder (inc Arsenal, hopefully), but also West Ham, Huddersfield, Fulham etc I sort of think there's a few good opportunities to see where we're likely to measure up by Christmas

12-14 points - great.
10 - 11 bit mediocre.
9 or less. Eeek, especially given the next 6 fixtures....

COYB.

10-11 points would be more than mediocre really. 11 would mean we were unbeaten.

Quite possible the best we've had since 2012/13 - Night game at Goodison against the Mancs, another night game at home to the Geordies then away to Villa around the time they started plummeting. Remember that one?

Goodison derby second - that two years in a row now, and three times in five! Last time that happened was 1999-01. Still nowhere near eleven freaking years in a row, where we hosted first, and I'm still calling foul play on that. I mean there's no way you can get 11 heads or tails in a row.

I think there were rumours going round that the Everton board wanted that arrangement as it ensured a certain amount of revenue from ticket sales upfront as opposed to the scenario of th fixtures coming up where all the big games are in the back half of the season. Probably just a rumour though. My favourite conspiracy story is that it was just a way of ensuring Liverpool always had the home advantage on the more important crunch fixture second half of the season.

Yeh don't rely on LaLiga fixtures mate. They're subject to change until about three weeks before. Bundesliga are about a month as well sometimes.

He is leaving them mate.

The Mendes driven football club is going to have a good season mate. They will sign some boss players through him and stay up easy. Gut feeling is that they win opening day if it was us, palace or even United.

Think people are getting a bit carried away with them. What makes you think they would beat United who came 2nd last season?

I have no doubt they will find a way of beating us though.

Mr Moshri says he expects 5 points from the first five games. (No quotes available)

He must know something we don't.

This current sack of shoite will frack this start up.

First day momentum mate.

Don't get me wrong, they will have a bad spell like any other promoted club. Not expecting them to challenge for europe!

Just the impression I got with them, much better than other teams who have came up if they keep signing these good youngsters.

Away to Spurs for the title decider on the last day of the season.

we always seem to be the last ones to play at a new stadium, same happened with west ham didn't it? Im sure theres a disadvantage there somewhere.
Decent opening run for us, good chance to start well
