A couple of miles from here, two ladies were caught walking across an empty parkland and were prosecuted. Did they really break the law, or was the law too draconian or observed in a sensible manner by the police ? Unfortunately there were too many instances of police over-reaction. We had draconian laws that anyone could have fallen foul of I’m afraid….so yes I hope that future governments do take note….
I'm as culpable of typos as anyone else, but thought I'd got my 'brake' and 'break' correct, mate. Perhaps you'd elucidate.
To some degree I agree with you. However Chamberlain was patently unfit for the role, Boris is however doing a decent job of it. Just ask yourself who would Putin want in the job today, Boris or Starmer…..
No we don't. Its the Daily Mail. The Daily, frigging Mail. I'm in my sixties and the Daily Mail has been the mouthpiece for the Tory party for the whole of my life. Everyone knows this. Give your head a wobble. The other day you were saying the British media was not much different from the Russian, which is a risible statement to make.
It’s not just the Daily Mail though, is it? It isn’t even just this topic; on any topic the majority of the print media are going to support this government irrespective of what it’s said or done. The broadcast media is heading that way too, with pro-government channels established or soon to be established on a clearly non-commercial basis and the others being a mix of unreliable, or complicit, or themselves addicted to the same commentary / punditry model that is ruining discourse.
I mean when your counter is “they’ve always done it”, that’s not a denial that there’s a problem, is it?
Any other time in the past these two would have resigned, in fact they would have resigned before we got to this point. If people cannot see the direction of travel " authoritarian state" my conclusion is they are comfortable with these happenings. It’s not just the Daily Mail though, is it? I don't get the excuse they're peddling. Will the UK still send aid to Ukraine if he went? Yes.Any other time in the past these two would have resigned, in fact they would have resigned before we got to this point. He’s doing great according to our resident pub landlord Al Murray (aka Pete)Unsurprising to see the die hard Tories and Tory supporters, on their knees, mouths open as Boris tells him about the delicious grapes he’s feeding them, whilst teabagging them and smirking.
Sorry for the image at this time of the morning, but they make me sick, and you should feel the same. What an awful country they’ve left us with after a decade of rule.
He just keeping his eyes tightly shut, telling himself over and over “Boris said it’s grapes. Boris said it’s grapes”, so he doesn’t have to face the awful truth. He’s doing great according to our resident pub landlord Al Murray (aka Pete)
