I don’t know @peteblue, what with you and Jimmy Carr.

Yeah, it probably helps when you're partially responsible for turning the UK into a dumpster fire.2/4 actually, none in the EU. My family tend to take a more global perspective. Those that do live in the U.K. voted Leave btw……..

Two things on this Pete. Firstly, and perhaps most importantly, it was quite clear that for many leave voters, being global was a major reason for voting to leave the EU, but not because they wanted more of it but rather because they wanted less. They wanted to reduce exposure to people from other countries. They wanted less integration with other nations. They wanted the ability to protect local industry. The Brexit vote was heavily nationalist, not globalist, and that was heavily reflected in the areas with a more globalist outlook, such as London, Oxford, Cambridge etc. which all voted heavily to remain.2/4 actually, none in the EU. Yes I think this is the case. But you said he grew up skint and still is, yet managed to raise you up. My guess would be that he used to vote Labour but changed his view in the 80’s……
Those were the days dissing experts listening and hanging off every word of the Tory Brexit high priests.
And mean while those horrible French types-
Yes I think this is the case.
Changed his view and too stupid and stubborn to change it again, thinks Tony Blair is the devil incarnate it seems.
Find it all a bit odd as he’s got sod all to “conserve” as well.
It’s all about moral values. If anybody backs this government, they’ve lost them, if indeed they ever had them in the first place.
Most corrupt government ever, led by a vile, narcissistic Trump like character.
If I could get out of this country I’d be gone, but my daughter is only 12 so don’t want to disrupt her education so I’ll have to wait.

Secondly, Johnson and his mob have realised this and have delivered a government that is more nativist than any in living memory. You may recall only a few weeks ago in the wake of yet another Johnson balls up that part of "operation red meat" was to whip up hostility towards refugees (again). This isn't a confident and outward-looking government but one that is instead trying to whip up fear of those that are foreign. They're doing this because they believe it to be electorally successful.
You've mentioned several times that you back Johnson because he's delivering what you want. I really can't see how that is possibly the case when all he's really delivering is what the Farages of this world want.
Thing is, I’m not aligned to any political party, but I know right or wrong. It’s a generational thing. I’m probably the same age as your dad. My mother who lived through the war and my father who fought during the war changed opinion during the end of the 70’s and saw Labour for what it was. I grew up as a Labour supporter but soon saw that Labour had nothing to offer for anyone who wanted to improve their lives.
You are probably in your early 40’s having never really suffered the abject poverty of your parents, but like many young people think socialism is a panacea, when it isn’t. You should take your dad to the pub, have a pint and listen to him……..

He’s always been a bit of a “card” has Johnson.

I’ve listened to him, he talks bollocks. Daily Mail reader type. Was angry that Marcus Rashford was helping to get kids fed…you know the type.
I just can’t take anybody serious who thinks Boris Johnson is the answer or a good idea for anything.
He’s a vile, disgusting individual who epitomises how low the U.K. has sunk as a nation.
Have we had the Russia report yet?Ok, is it right or wrong that Putin may invade Ukraine…..
