Current Affairs The next Tory (strong and stable) leader is Boris Johnson

The Twittersphere has apparently been inundated overnight with messages supporting the buffoon.

Strangely they are all exactly the same and mostly linked to accounts claiming allegiance to football clubs to give them street cred.

As if any self respecting footy fan would be deceived by such blatant gibberish.

The syntax and language used in that Twitter post is well sussy.

British people don't speak or write like that.

Boris won't be apologising to Starmer: "He's got other stuff to get on with today."

What would that be? Ordering up another crate of Bolly from Fortnums? Practising his smirk in the mirror?

And that's Brexit is it ? Well go on tell us what has Brexit done for you and your pub Peter ? Has it got you more customers, cheaper beer ?
I know a lot of lies was spread to get it through, what was it £350m or something to the Health Service ? Apparently not that it bothers you, the NHS is still waiting for that money. So am I right to start with, you stand for Brexit, Johnson even though he just lies and smears innocent people, that not something you care about, or is it just what's in your pocket...

I wanted Brexit for my children. I am retired and helped to save a village pub from closure and provide employment to villagers. I make no gain from it and have no interest in making money from it, I derive pleasure from the fact it still exists. As for the U.K. , we are no longer ruled by Brussels and our Parliament has to stand or fall by their own deeds and actions without an ability to blame someone else. We are re-engaging with the world which is what I wanted and not being confined to the morass of EU rules and regulations designed to maintain a closed market.

The Eu are no friends of ours and never have been. If you haven’t twigged that yet after both the negotiations and the manner in which they prefer to make things as difficult as possible then you never will. The Eu is a political project that is quite simply a mess. There is no coherent approach or indeed agreement with members about how to deal with Putin over Ukraine for instance. We are a grown up country and do not need some failed politicians in Brussels to determine our future course…..

Didn't answer my question. You can trivialize it all you want as just 'having a cake or wine and cheese' but you know full well its more than that. It is flagrant rule breaking at a time when he was personally telling us all to do the opposite.

it's not a small issue, its complete hypocrisy. I understand your point of view that you will allow certain things as long as he gets the main job done and I have no problem with that as no one is perfect, but at some point he will do something even you can't defend and I'd like to know what that is? This point has come for many tory mps and tory votes not just crazy lefties

Using your own logic, Boris was in overall charge at the time when there was countless parties going on often in his own house, so he is responsible for that. That logic you use to slander Starmer could so easily be used to say, anything bad that has happened in this government is completely on Boris' shoulders. Will you use the same logic fairly, or just when you want to slag off starmer?

Addressing your point about my own red line. It’s when he fails to deliver what he promised or what was needed. I am not yet happy about Brexit as it stands. We are are out, so a big tick, but this issue over NI should either be resolved or we should enact art16. I am also more than happy to rip up the whole agreement and go to WTO rules. I believe the government managed Covid as well as could be done and we are in a good place. I want to see the CPTPP put in place and trade agreements with India and the USA. On all of these things I believe we will resolve.

On the downside, I am not happy with the green ‘net zero’ policy. Aspirations are wonderful but the technology required to deliver is not available and we will end up in the poor house if we continue without realism and pragmatism ………

Did your children want brexit..or did you decide that for them. Can not see much change after getting your brexit, just remember Lorry drivers queuing for miles, for days on end because of it. Hell of a lot of trouble is brewing in Ireland, in fact the DUP party, traditional Tory supporters are up in arms over border control, was that another of old Boris's promises down the Swanny River. When we were in Europe didn't we have an opt out clause that prevented us being forced to agree to things, just can not see the benefit to the man on the street, or our Country. I believe the absolute beaut of a person the "right honourable" Rees Mogg actually moved one of his companies to Ireland, well that is one benefit i suppose...for him.

Where's the 350 mil for the NHS he failed to deliver?

Technology is there and has been for ages but the political will isn't. The tech isn't hard mate.
