With BJ being universally unpopular with the electorate. Why are the Tories so keen to keep him in position.

Is it because there isn’t a better alternative?

Can someone please explain. TIA.
There's also probably loads more corruption and scandal to answer for -- they'll want Johnson to take as much of that flak as possible before he's kicked out. Oh, and how long did it take him to depart his last official residence when sacked? He'll be squatting in #10 for a while.

It's all just a game to Johnson. His dream has been to become PM. Not because he wants to improve people's lives, but because of the challenge and notoriety that comes with it. This coincides with being a useful idiot for the far right ringers to get their stuff through parliament.

He's another conman who will do anything to cling on.

Nah he’ll probably be encouraged to say he didn’t tell the PM, leave to a new CS post and get compo, meanwhile the tats and their media chums will pretend this clears Johnson entirely.
Exactly this. Nice cushy job somehwhere, maybe even private sector. Some charity organisation and such in 6-12 months. Tasty pay rise, still keep pensions and benefits and so on.
It's like clockwork.
If that doesn't work, can always throw a cabinet minister under the bus next. Take out your leadership competition.

Reckon he has been watching house of cards on Netflix and thinks that Frank dude has it Sussed. I will do what he does.
