Current Affairs The next Tory (strong and stable) leader is Boris Johnson

A gaffe a day - guaranteed. The only reason he gets any credibility is because there's a serf mentality amongst a lot of people in this country. They hear him talk and think he's a 'wheeze' and feel they get a reflected glow by referring to him as "Boris" to others. "Boris", btw, wouldn't piss any of them if they were on fire. They'd like to think they are represented by him but he sees them as subhumans he can exploit.

If that overgrown public schoolboy gets the Tory leadership there'll be champagne corks popping at Labour HQ. I'd expect a LP majority at the next election.
My big concern is that brexit has become a totem for so many they will simply disregard the huge amount of suffering johnson will cause as long as he's pro brexit, it's a ridiculous attitude to have but it definitely exists

He's a vacilator though. He's not like an ERGer and potential candidate, Steve Baker, who has been a straight arrow on this issue of Brexit. Johnson was never known for strong views on leaving Europe prior to the referendum; then he became an arch-leaver; then he caved in for May's 3rd attempt at passing her withdrawal plan (which would have shut down a no deal Brexit); now he's for a no deal Brexit if no agreement by October 31st.

People wont be allowed to forget that. The LP will play on that inconsistency and pose the question when the next u-turn will be (on Brexit and other matters).

He's flakey, and people sense flakiness and dont place their faith in anyone with the faintest whiff of it about them.

I would imagine it will be Boris but none of the candidates fill me with any confidence at all. Our politics just has no decent people in it these days.

Slippery slope mate......out of interest, why do you trust her?
For a start she doesn't change her mind to suit public opinion at any given time like a Boris or many of the others do. She comes across in interviews as genuine and sincere and what you see is what you get which is rare in politics these days. I may not agree with her but I think she is one Tory who is straight as far as her politics is concerned.

Imagine Boris was our Prime Minister.

It for too long as you’ll go insane, but imagine it for a second or two.
Unfortunately integrity and substance are not in great demand these days as many of our moronic population relive the Battle of Britain. It is very possible even though his stablemate across the pond is there for all to see.
Scary times.

Cometh the hour, cometh the man......
Pete. This is a wind-up. We have had much debate and one thing you are certainly not is thick. The man has no substance other than obesity, no grasp of detail and would sell every job in the UK for a spell of power. He needs a much deserved fatal heart attack.

Gove is number 8 to the starting line. So all that have got us in this mess have stepped forward thus far. Not going well just chasing the tail of Farage. He he he!
