You can imagine all you like, that is simply not true.I imagine there are more whites than blacks at these protests
You should see what we think of him in IrelandWarrington seems to have a strange fascination with Cromwell for some reason, based on the story that he lodged overnight, before or after the Battle of Warrington during the English Civil War, in a house in the town. He isn't historically very popular in the whole of the country so I can't understand why there are statues of him.
Have you seen what they have done to Queen Victoria's nipples? It is no wonder you are perturbed.
Well there is one thing I will say for Johnson, his organisational skills in the face of a crisis are second to none.Johnson needs to get his act together and put an end to it before it gets completely out of hand.
You are making my point for me as I said without the statue , who as you say would have heard of him and his slave trading even in his home city. The ONLY reason people now know about him, is solely due to the fact that BLM lobbed it into the sea. Without that action he’d still be largely unknown outside that City, so the statue didn’t educate anyone, the actions of BLM did.
Hang on a minute. I said so the criteria for whether things stay up is aesthetics and you reply saying yes. And then when I seek to clarify that you say ‘for the second time today (not to me by the way) I’m not the one removing statues’?! How is that making any sense to you, because it isn’t making any to me?
We could have sent the water cannons in he bought ,if only they hadn't been scrapped at a 300,000 pound loss.Im all for peaceful protests but some of what has gone on is just feral behaviour and alot of these idiots think a cheap made face mask makes them immune from catching the virus.
Sadly the law abiding people who haven't seen family in months, have lost jobs and businesses etc. Will continue to be spat on this weekend when we have race riots and thousands marching around without a care in the world.

I never did, I simply asked without google how would know his name? The man who directly caused WW1 and by doing so indirectly caused WW2.
The statue had been there for 130 years mate, and literally no one but locals who objected to it, knew about him. So that angle just doesn’t stand up.You are making my point for me as I said without the statue , who as you say would have heard of him and his slave trading even in his home city.
Now it's gone ,a decade or so from now nobody will have a clue who he was or what he did.
His history will be forgotten, as will the actions of those who threw it in the harbour.
I do know there are more than a few who think his name is Gustavo.I think a lot more people know that than you realize.
I hope so anyway...
Which is absolutely fine as a position for you to take, but is completely unrelated to the discussion that was taking place which you replied to, hence my confusion.Well it sounded like I was made up the Colston statue was taken down and I am happy to pick and choose what stays and goes.
I have no major thoughts on it one way or the other in what stays or goes. I don't think I have even given an opinion when it comes to that specific statue. (I may have, there has been an awful lot of posting recently..)
All I was saying was some statues or monuments have way more merit than just being a statue.

Boris cocks up again.
would love to be let lose with one of those outside Anfield.
You may be thinking of Super Soakers.Water cannons look a lot more fun than I assume they actually are.
