So, if you kill people in a quick time span and then live a long life it's fine because your % of killing time to life lived goes down?
He didn't kill anyone , to my knowledge.

He invested in a trade which was NO DIFFERENT TO THE WINE , FRUITS AND TEXTILES that he also traded in at the time.

He was a trader. History tells us how horrible it was but he was a trader, who used his fortune to give back to a city where he lived.

Unless he was on the ship personally then he didn't kill anyone. He is as accountable to the slave trade as every other person involved yes absolutely. If you want to go down that path then there is far more to be angry about in this country than a statue of one man.

Another fact. The romans had the slave trade, Anglo saxons i.e our ancestors had a slave trade of their own people.

John Hawkins , is that a name you have heard of? Why isn't his name more in the media now? Why haven't BLM gone after him directly instead of Plymouth quietly going about it the right way?

Why didn't BLM tear down the Francis Drake statue?

Of course I have, he is the singer in The Darkness.

Hitler did not kill anyone either did he? He was just the Chancellor.

As I say, it is fine, just put the statue back up.

He gave the order to kill if history serves me right.

Not quite the same as being involved in a company that deals with the slave trade. A trade that had existed for 200 years before that man was involved.

Because BLM isn’t a movement devoted to tearing down statues?
What are they devoted to?

I'd vote for a statue of @Tubey to be put on the plinth. He can have his arms outstretched as he holds back the racists on his right and the people saying the racists are bad on the left. Alone in the middle he exclaims that both are just as bad and ensures the Status Quo is maintained
God I hate Status Quo.

If there were a statue of Francis Rossi then I would hope it got pulled down.

Down.

Deeper and down.
