We can all just pick out examples that confirm our opinions.

We can also reply with one sentence that doesn't counter anything.

I just googled "most skilful Premier League players" and picked the first link:

I then googled "most powerful Premier League players" and picked the first link that was relevant:

In the first one,

25 players, 20 of whom were white.

In the second one,

15 players, 13 of whom were black.

So my question is, is this "racial bias", or is there simply something to be said for black players being generally stronger/quicker, and white players being more technical?

Put aside whether it's genetics, whether it's a predisposition to twitch reflexes, bone density, limb length and so on, let's just look at the reality of football - are we grown up enough to just say "yeah you know what, there's a difference as it stands", or are we just going to scream "racist" at everything.

Nothing to do with sport. We're not discussing perceived physical threat.

I'm not saying racial bias doesn't exist; just that it isn't automatically that and in relation to that particular study I'm pretty certain it isn't that.
That study wasn't just about perceived threat. Perceived size and strength also, and it was American footballers being rated.

Yeah, by face. Its about preconceived notions influencing guesses. It is racial bias, it absolutely exists, no question about it.

There's a difference between that and the football study, where the commentators are commenting on actual physical action in real time.

lol lol lol lol lol lol lol

I think people who normally speak their mind really should say nothing at the moment. Mind you, if the language he used was in any way a reflection of his mind or views, then I’m glad he did, and suffers the fallout for it.......

The first comment gets dangerously close to the argument that's often trotted out of 'it's a compliment' to suggest black people are naturally strong, or have other stereotyped physical differences. It's quite odd to use studies (from pop science or Fox News!) about general populace when the research linked is related to a sport in which all the players will be physically above average? It's a selective group, not a collection of random members of the population.
All 100m runners are physically above average, but 15 of the last 20 (and all of the last 9) Olympic 100m mens titles have been won by black athletes. In fact only 2 medals have been won by white athletes in the last 10 Olympic 100m finals, both in 1980, when half the world was boycotting the games. How would you explain that?

This is quite interesting

This is getting WILDLY off topic, and not towards a topic I want to wade into. The actual closer argument would be if @Tubey lined up all the black and white footballers in the Premier League and ranked them according to strength and power as he's trying to prove they are inherently more powerful. If he can do this taking into account for various scales of skin colour too.

I was just asking a question. ‘I don’t know’ would have sufficed.

I don't know. I also don't think it's that relevant to the suggestion that black footballers are less likely to have their intelligence remarked upon as white footballers. Is it?

That isn’t mentioned in the comment I replied to. Is it?

That was what the discussion came from. And, treading over old ground here, football isn't a sport that is just about one attribute, or just about power, so why would the black players be mainly discussed in regards to that when white players aren't. There has been a lot of research into the superhumanistaion of black people by white people. There's anecdotal, of course, evidence from other football fans about how black players are spoken about (lazy, smile on their face, chants about Adebayor). But, because you know of some fast black people that is evidence that this isn't racist?
