Did you see today that when someone asked Tim Farron about his ridiculously archaic stance on gay rights, his "supporters" booed and sneered down the question? What on earth is that about?
This doesn't surprise me in the least. Typical of politics unfortunately, blind, unflinching and unquestioning devotion to their party from a very vocal minority who seem intent on hijacking said party and spewing blind rage at those foolish enough to question their dogma or their glorious leader. How that idiot Farron can pass himself off as a Liberal Democrat is beggars belief because he's nither Democratic nor a Liberal. The Lib Dems are quite possibly the most hypocritical party in the country and that's saying something because their under some extreme competition.

about time they had a woman leader to be fair, stella creasy speaks well too

Keep an eye out for Louise Haigh if the Tory landslide does happen. She's in one of the (traditionally) safest seats in the country and will move in quickly to fill a vacuum. She failed to hold her nerve in the second Leadership challenge - if she'd stuck it out with Corbyn she'd be in inner circle by now

Right now, one of the things we are drawing attention to is that @Chunky Frankfurter is previously banned poster @butters and @Nil Satis Niasse Optimum . We feel this is a hot issue and something our support is passionate about.

Nothing like a miscarriage of justice to rally support from the masses. This could be your Birmingham Six or the Guildford Four, or if we go for the complete opposite, Jaws 4... :p

not sure why your struggling with it...
It's put everything on the table a total cop out some negotions if Labour were to gain power also should this not be coming from Jezza the great leader ?
He reminds me of Citizen Smith - power to the people with no way of funding anything other than a half a trillion money tree on his allotment lol

...so you, @neil999 and I have highlighted 3 bright young Labour MPs in Lisa Nandy, Stella Creasy and Louise Haigh but I fear the Momentum Corbynists have known exactly what will happen in this election and have planned another 5 years of similar politics with somebody like Angela Raynor, one of their own. Such a shame.

could see sadiq khan as new leader(obvs has to be mp first) him as leader with keir starmer as right hand man

sadiq has the charisma/common touch and starmer has the intellect

My view on Sadiq is that he is quite good and has a tiny bit of charisma.

I think he is a lightweight (in character) though probably the very best lightweight one could get and not to be estimated. I think he's doing a far better job of mayor than Boris did (though that wouldn't be difficult).

In my classification of politicians (regardless of party or affiliation) if I am calling him a lightweight then who is a heavyweight?

Heavyweights were/are Thatcher, Farage, Benn (Tony not Hilary who is a lightweight).

Corbyn scrapes in as a middleweight. Theresa may is a lightweight as IMO is BoJo.

All recent LibDem leaders are lightweights though those in the past (Steel , Ashdown etc were middleweights)

In France Le Pen is a middleweight and in the US JFK was a heavyweight. Trump is a lightweight.

Now is a good time to start mate. Marcons centrist party was only founded a year ago and he is about to become president of France!

Just goes to show as long as someone has a half decent plan and the party is not ripping itself to pieces what can be achieved. The world is your lobster. :)

I think because of the way the political system is set up in France (elect your leader and then MP's), that's easier to do. Here, it would take much, much longer to create a new political party and attract good MP's to stand in enough seats to have a chance at anything.

I genuinely don't even think Corbyn will resign no matter how bad he does.
I read at the weekend that if/when it goes badly he will hang on until the party conference in September where they will amend the selection criteria for party leader nominations to 5% of sitting MP's. This would pretty much guarantee that someone from Corbyn's coterie would be included in the list of candidates and that he/she would then be a shoe in when it goes to party members.

I think he (Farage) is the most formidable of the party leaders today (this rather silly classification of mine doesn't mean I agree with the views of the people I've labelled heavyweight), but yes probably more a middleweight than a heavyweight.

He will go down in history though as I think it is fair to say that Brexit would not have happened without his efforts
