It's all about opinions for sure.
But if you run the risk of having you house repossessed and the credit card cut off after 90 days without earning any money then you are working class in my book. Not sure how you can be anything else.

You realise you've changed the goalposts don't you? And it's still mental to suggest that if someone is a multi-millionaire they're working class if they spend more than they have

Yes, you are right. The tories are the most trustworthy party of all.
The Tories are totally untrustworthy - we agree on that.
However, with the voters they are far more trustworthy than
the Labour party. And that's the problem they have. Just let that
sink in for a minute. The Tories are a bunch of charlatans & sleaze merchants
but the average bloke in the street trusts them far more than they do
the Labour party. Scary. Very scary. But that is the position they are in.

And on what basis would Burnham be appointed except that he is northern?
What has he done for Greater Manchester apart from loose £30 million additional funding
for furloughed staff? It's a genuine question and not a dig. I live in Manchester and from where
I sit it's a disaster. Pre COVID I took some some business colleagues from Germany and Switzerland
out one night for something to eat and a few drinks in the city centre. I was genuinely embarrassed
of my home town and City. It's a cesspit it really is.

Sorry about that had I known you were out that night to impress I would have stayed home

I think you are making excuses for people. I’m not sure what evidence there is to suggest that Labour are untrustworthy given they haven’t been in power for over a decade.
People voted for the tories because we are ultimately a Tory nation. I’ve resigned myself to it all now.
People get what they deserve. They are free to make their own lives harder.

That's it in a nutshell really.
Democracy in action regardless of whether we like it or not...

lol

this is ridiculous

It’s mad. I thought being ‘woke’ was a good thing.

Yeah, I don't get it. When the term 'SJW' became a think I thought it sound great, who wouldn't be for more 'social justice', and a warrior would just be somebody like an activist rather a vague supporter I guess. But it turned out it was a perjorative, and then all I saw was 'the SJWs' being castigated by half of society for something or other.

If there's any valid criticism at all behind the term then it could be to do with labelling people similar to 'armchair activists' or 'keyboard warriors' - ie someone who is far more comfortable retweeting progressive messages than actually doing stuff like volunteering or marching etc.

TBF I’d only point out here that if we were a Tory nation, why do we require a media that pumps out continually pro-Tory messages, and why do the Tories see fit to reinvent themselves every five years or so?

Because the media are catering to a demand... if people didn't want to read it, they wouldn't buy it, so they wouldn't stay in business.

The Tories are malleable in their ideology because of the same thing - they identify demand, so they give the supply.

I think the media are more creating the demand than catering for it.

Hence why you have such rubbish on GMB like “is marriage sexist” which then causes early morning outrage and more sneering towards the “woke” when nobody, absolutely nobody wants a debate on that.

It’s a small example, but reflective of the issue at hand.

The cause is something else. The outcome is the same.
