Will be interesting to see where that Brexit party vote goes... No doubt will be the overriding issue considering the votes they garnered. Will Mandelson be able sprinkle some sparkle on his old comfortable seat, Dr Williams is a good headline choice for Labour candidate, although recent ousted from previous seat over Brexit.

This will be a test for Starmer: he's been denying the rights of rank and file members since being eleceted as leader...now he desperately needs them on the ground in Hartlepool to get over the line.

I anticipate lots of placation of the party membership by him, then he'll return to default anti-democratic, anti-membership setting post by-election.
