Turns out that not only did he publish an interview with Duke but he was also a member of the group which invited right-wing Hungarian MEP Krisztina Morvai, an ally of Nick Griffin, to London. The invite was only cancelled when anti-fascist groups protested.

What is someone like that doing in Labour in the first place? Surely not even the most virulent, frothing at the mouth Starmer-hater could be happy being in the same party with someone who consorts with fascists and the Ku Klux Klan?

The failure of the policy to back the government for fear of being seen as 'opportunists' is there for all to see. They abdicated all responsibility to provide a critique of what was going on and in the process have been complicit in a massive carnage, because if this government had an opposition snarling at it they would have thought twice about doing many of the things that's led to the most disastrous Covid19 response in the world.
