"Labour’s internal elections have returned mixed results, with seven of the 15 positions won by Momentum-backed candidates"

Absolutely terrifying that - means nearly half the party are ran by lunatics who will only guarantee more Tory rule.

Be ace if you could explain the ramifications for the internal policies of the Labour Party and how this will extrapolate to more Tory rule come the elections in 4 years time.

Dont get me wrong there is division in the Tory ranks but I feel much less so than in Labour. There isn't much difference between Cameron/May/Johnson but we've just gone from Corbyn to Starmer! and before that Blair/Brown to Red Ed!

Then you have to ask yourself does Labour care about the North? Recent years tells me no - people like Andy Burnham will never have a sniff of one day becoming PM because he has a scouse accent.

The best thing for Labour (and Lib Dems post Clegg) is to break apart and reform 3-4 new parties that are more tailor made to the voters and not clumping communists in with centrists.

This is the absurdity of your thinking in a nutshell though - attacking Labour because it doesn't care about the north and citing Andy Burnham, Labour MP, Labour leadership candidate and Labour Shadow Home Secretary as an example of how it doesn't care about the north. Its as if you are just pumping out slogans without understanding any of the words behind it.

If Labour cared about the North - swathes of Labour voters wouldnt have gone Tory in the last election.

Instead of blaming the working class as being "stupid gammons" maybe the far left talking heads need to look closer to home as to why the conservatives can cut cut cut yet still win election after election.

The fact Momentum is still hanging around like a bad smell tells me Labour still havent learned their lesson - im not a Starmer fan boy but he has to boot them out and fast.

ah, circular logic - because people are told something and act on it, then that thing must have been true.

The main two reasons why the Tories win elections is firstly because they have the backing of most of the media, and second because people read, listen to and watch the media.

That’s why you (for example, but it’s a much more widespread phenomenon) just repeat what you’ve been told, no matter how absurd or contradictory it is. You’ve been told something about Labour - far left, extremist, doesn’t represent normal people - and believe it, repeat it and basically defend it even though you’ve got no idea what any of it means. That Momentum bit being a case in point.

Sorry mate but thats hogwash.

Labour doesnt win election = corrupt media

Trump doesn't win election = election fraud

Sour apples that mate - Labour have to look closer to home otherwise they'll keep losing elections and keep blaming everyone but themselves for it.

er - you do know that the same person who owns a lot of the media here is pushing that election fraud angle over there, don't you? (edit) that his support was vital in getting Trump's message out?

Doesn't make much difference imo - the likes of the mail & express are anti labour but the guardian, mirror etc are often anti Tory.

Both sides think the BBC is bias and either pro or anti EU.

If Momentum & Corbyn weren't so out of touch with politics in this country Labour would have been elected over two duffers in May & Johnson but they won't admit doing the best for Labours chances is for them to walk away.

I don't particularly like Starmer but I'll certainly be voting for him which is what I never did when it came to Corbyn and his suspect policies.

Can you explain who the far left talking heads are? And if you can say when they called the working class 'stupid gammons'. I do mean actual examples.

Also, Corbyn was an MP throughout the Blair years, as was Tony Benn until 2001. It's absolutely boggling to suggest those on the left of the party are incompatible with a Labour victory.

it’s not just the Mail and Express though, is it?

as for the rest, this is just you repeating slogans again - if Momentum and Corbyn were so out of touch, why did they twice get more votes than Labour got at any other general election since 2001? Why should they walk away from a party that has always had their sort of mild socialism represented within it?

sad to see you drop the “our party” line though, that was funny

'Mild Socialism' lol

Probably a lot to do with the fact the Lib Dems lost a lot of support over Clegg gate which filtered through to Labour rather than the Conservatives.

I get it mate you like momentum - but they are keeping the Tories in power so you have a choice of fighting against them for the greater good or keep the Tories in power whilst claiming swathes of Northerners voting Tory is down to some higher power corrupting the media.

Momentum belong somewhere like the Green Party they haven't the support outside of the far left and dooey eyed students to win elections.

I hear the torturer's friend was on Desert Island Discs today and revealed his dad hardly taked to him.

I bet he thought his son was a right hank. From what I can remember he went to college and became a Lord Snooty type and forgot where he came from. No wonder Starmer Snr ignored him. And I hope the feller never lived to see the day his son covered up state assassinations and state consented rape and infiltration of trade unions.

Oh dear.. Get Brexit done won the election pushed by the majority of the printed media owned by billionaire tory and right wing supporters. Momentum had little or nothing to do with it.

You dont know how good you had it under Blair & Brown mate - we've never had it so good in all honesty.

Now we are into a decade of Tory cuts to the Local authorities & front line services whilst fools are continuing to support Momentum and their cabal of fanatical politicians like Corbyn.
