I see Boris has increased his support over the empty vessel by 13 points, during a period of absolute shambles by his government. Just imagine what it will be when he kicks the government into gear.....

Who will do something for the north of England? Left to rot for decades and now people just accept it. What a disgrace. What did the Labour party do during the decade they were in power? Nothing, not interested. What did Jack Straw say, "The white working class are not worth saving"
I'd like to say I'm amazed anyone still votes for them but I'm not. We've got the politicians we deserve.

One of the worst things to ever happen in UK politics was the collapse of the SDP.

Only party that would be worth voting for in the current climate.

Only part that would be worth voting for in the current climate.

How old were you when the SDP were about? I ask that, cos I put you down as late 20's/early 30's. Could well be wrong, and you were at school like me when they were.

Late 20's mate so they were before my time - but reading up on them they would certainly have my vote over Labour if they were in a position to compete for office.

I could probably count on one hand the amount of politicians that I have any time for. Shirley Williams though would be one of them. Not that we think the same way but she has always struck me as a genuine character and one of the few in it for the right reason, namely to serve the nation.
But I am an old cynic I'm afraid.

SDP gang of 4...Williams, Rogers, Jenkins and Owen...Red tories enabled the thatcher government to stay in power even after they merged with the Liberal party in 1988 until another red tory in Blair arrived in '97. So called centrists had a choice in 2019 to vote for the Lib dems or the newly formed centre party but they didn't, as the election was driven by "get brexit done" Blair was Thatcher's 'proudest creation' as she herself said. I expect starmer to take Labour further to the right, giving no real choice to voters at the next election.

I am not a member of the Labour party lad, you display a degree of ignorance and presumption SDP actual socialists? Explain please as you understand it...I actually experienced them not just read about it.

How after all we have seen over the past few months have the tories got a lead still?! Good grief.

There is an awful, awful lot of boosting of them going on still and it is not always obvious.

As an example, I was at work earlier and we had Gold (or some such crap) on the radio in the office. One of the early morning news reports said (and apologies if its not word for word) that the government had guaranteed that students doing BTEC would get their results on time, next week. This is despite the BTEC results being due today.
