Party discipline was a big issue for myself and hence why Starmer got my vote, married with the manifesto pledge. Indeed I'm happy for Labour to play the rules as they are now, however, once manifesto time arrives, will need to see the teeth of fairness snarl...

Starmer was a big reason why people deserted Labour and went Tory....

Starmer wasnt the leader mate.

Starmer was the one that forced the Labour Party to fudge the issue, putting Corbyn in the invidious position of sitting on the fence. I have no love for Corbyn, but Starmer was the Remainer who forced the policy.....

Not sure that Starmer was in a position to force Corbyn to do anything, tbh mate.

Independent, Sept 2019.

Labour’s leadership has been accused of a “total stitch-up” over Brexit, after members of its ruling National Executive Committee were given 90 minutes to raise objections by email to a statement backing Jeremy Corbyn’s position.

Senior shadow cabinet members including Emily Thornberry and Sir Keir Starmer have spoken out in favour of shifting the party’s position to backing Remain in any referendum, while deputy leader Tom Watson is arguing for a public vote on Brexit before any election.

But Mr Corbyn tabled a statement to the NEC on Saturday saying that, while the party backed a referendum and would offer the options of a “sensible” Brexit deal or Remain to voters, a decision on how it would campaign in a second public vote would be left until after the general election.

Clear mandate at the time for that position to be played. Labour official position now is for Johnson to get on with Brexit.

And 80 seat majority yet this PM behaves as if he is still pre election sitting tight on a minority Government, not growing into the role.

Interestingly the principled populist are getting restless, hence why political vandal that is Farage is threatening to throw stones at Westminster all over again, it's an expected consequence with having Johnson at the helm.

'Mr Starmer says Labour will "scrutinise the details" of the announcement and "study the guidance", but "overall I welcome this statement, I believe the government is trying to do the right thing, and in that we will support them." He said there are no "easy" decisions to be made, and any unlocking of restrictions carries "risks".'

Ladies and gentleman, I give you the leader of the Opposition - offering support to a government that's oveseen a holocaust.

He's about as uselful as an ash tray on a motorbike.

Should he just disagree with everything they say, like you, Dave?

No, he should grow a pair of testicles and start challenging this gang of genocidal maniacs, not carry on like he's the leader of the Lib Dems....in fact, Davey the leader of the LDs has been more critical of the Tories.

Starmer is an establishment man. He wont rock any boats. What a tragedy for the British people that we have a psychotic murderer as a PM and a spineless turd as Opposition leader at such a time.
