No, it wasn't self muting. HanCOCK muted the participant(s). He was the host.
TBF anyone in the world who says they wouldn’t press “mute all” at least once during a teleconference with those mutants is lying.

I think it says more about you dave
After using Skype, Zoom and MS teams for meetings over the past couple of weeks I can easily reassure you that common courtesy is to mute your mic whilst the chair is speaking. Mainly because the audio is kin awful and picks up on every little background noise making it almost impossible to hear anything
I've had to try and stop going to these, especially the Zoom ones. The inanety of most of the conversations in working hours, crazy
Teams seems to be more useful

I'm saying he muted individuals. Its common practice to mute your mic on conf calls to cut interference and the like when you are not speaking.
Unless you are saying that he muted his speaker, not his mic in a move that meant that he didn't have to listen to annoying questions and could play an exciting game of guess the answer on national tv?

Maybe I've got it wrong and HanCOCK was open to criticism and debate. Seems highly unlikely though doesn't it, given that he's a swivel eyed perpetrator in a a mass crime?
When my missus is on her conference calls she presses mute and it shows 'mute' on her screen. but she can still hear everyone on the call speaking.
Yes, mute the mic not the speaker. lol
One wonders then if a quick fingered on/off on/off aproach to muting in quick succession might produce a somewhat comedic Norman Collier style effect. Might be worth bearing in mind for future conference calls. Then unmute the mic when you want to speak
What HanCOCK did though, as chair, was to mute certain contributors to avoid any dissent that could tie him in knots. When my missus is on her conference calls she presses mute and it shows 'mute' on her screen. but she can still hear everyone on the call speaking.
He just didn't allow a question from the muted participant. That's what it looked like.Ah, so he chose to mute the questions and guess the answers.
Can't believe that the others on the call didn't pull him up for ignoring their questions/points.
Joking aside, it could make for fun TV.
Hunt - Can you give us a breakdown on PPE supply please, Matt?
Matt- The CCP are lovely people and you cannot seriously blame them for the pandemic!
