if that is true (and it would be easy to check), then that is Labour getting found guilty by the EHRC on at least one (and possibly two others) of the four counts

edit: it should also be pointed out that the quote in the report isn't exactly as it appears there (the ..... has been added, to make it look as if Oldknow asked Watson to fix the NEC vote rather than Karie Murphy telling people that had been done)

That 'kin scumbag Oldknow is employed by Unison. I expect her to be dealt with ASAP.

Ha Ha Ha Ha.

FFS.

No mate, nothing at all....other than a massive dagger placed between Corbyn's shoulder blades in the chicken coup of 2016.

Please try and familiarise yourself with the recent history of British politics....it'll stop you walking onto one like you did there ^^^

So if you (as an MP) supported Corbyn, you hate Starmer cos he did for Corbyn, but now will support Starmer? Or will they, (Corbyns mates) try to do for Starmer?

Asking as a very naive voter not versed in the inner workings of the party.

No, you dont hate Starmer as a matter of course because you supported Corbyn. And the left wont go after Starmer either. The left are committed to ending a decade of Tory barbarism that's ended with their overseeing a human catastrophe. The left will be disciplined...that's because they have the LP in their DNA - it's THEIR party, something that cant be said for the "free market" infiltrators who used the LP's own funds to deny a Labour Government coming to power under Corbyn. That's the inner workings of the LP.

Gotcha. Makes actual sense.

I wouldn't say he did for Corbyn, what I would suggest is he was pulled aside and told to be quiet and wait for his time, he has so much previous as a member of the system it was only ever going to be him.
Others will have moved things around to undermine Corbyn, as has been pointed out time ad finitum on these boards, usually met with derision, and all to maintain the status quo of the system.
Brexit was never an issue, as long as the system remains regardless.

TBF I think its a bit much to say it was only ever going to be him; if the right was stronger and had candidates that were in any way plausible then anyone who had been part of the post-chicken coup Corbyn shadow cabinets would be in their crosshairs. They've only latched on to Starmer because they are even weaker than they were in 2015 (when they got 4% of the leadership vote), will only back him for as long as they don't have an alternative - whether thats within the party or without.

Take a look at the scum he's promoted: Reeves, Kendall, Murray, Falconer, Phillips. His leadership campaign was organised by characters from Labour First...the racists and sexists who've recently been exposed.

They own him. He's their creature.

That was my point, dave - they don't own him, he is the only game in town for now.

If they weren't in the SC they'd be on the backbenches doing to Starmer what they did to Corbyn and Miliband (and Brown in some cases); in fact if things don't go to their liking (or if that investigation Starmer announced today is actually independent) they'll be doing it anyway - as we all know they will. Putting them on show, where they can be seen to fail, is the best way of dealing with them.

That supposed to be getting behind him?

I'll get behind him if:

  • he deals with severity the LP officials who tanked their own party's election chances
  • he leads a massive fight against the killing of our people by the Tories
  • he reaffirms the intent of the last two LP manifestos to effectively declare an end to neo-liberalism (as he indicated he would in the leadership race)
Until such a point in time that he delivers on that, he'll be viewed with rightful suspicion as a careerist and a captive of the LP right wing.

Dont think you will get behind him then.

I disagree. He's a plotter and he fell in with the right wing plot to get shut of Corbyn.

This is no straight arrow we're talking about here. He's a DPP with a terrible right wing record.

Who's the left though mate? Is it purely represented by the likes of Corbyn McDonnell Murray Milne McCluskey and co, or is it a broad church including the less radical and society in general?
