It would be fine to see some positive changes for these constant rises but nothing ever changes here except council pay going up. Since anderson has been in charge we have fallen miles behind manchester in terms of transport and business infrastructure.
Are they not just keeping their heads above water? Also not sure Anderson collects his full recommended salary. I know many councils are on their knees to be honest, no just LIverpool.
Couldn’t tell you why Manchester appears to be getting more investment like. I imagine other posters on here may have a reasoned answer.

He collects plenty of money as do his fellow trough snufflers at the council. It's not only that hes not very good at the job but he looks terrible too. Hes a dreadful figurehead for the city. He has a record of only taking action over things that directly affect him. I don't know anyone who rates him.

Have you seen him?

Hes an appalling specimen and I certainly doubt the competence and nouse of someone who let's themself get that out of shape.

Liverpool is the smaller city, doesn’t have the international links Manchester has, GDP is lower for Liverpool by about £6k a year per person.

Liverpool doesn’t have the same amount of innovation going on when compared to Manchester - lot of companies in Manchester benefit from the quality of University of Manchester.

Rather than scaremongering, it's a shame things like this that make a real impact aren't addressed -

The use of IT in the NHS is frankly criminal, but it's illegal to criticise the NHS, so we put up with IT that the rest of society binned 20 years ago. And before the 'it's coz they lack money' drum is banged, do please accept that there is also criminal wastage. My wife's team were all given tablets to use, but no training on how to use them, so 90% of the team have stashed them safely in their draw and they've never been used. Having worked with consultancies who do a lot of work 'integrating' the likes of Cerner systems into the NHS, they're like wolves in the hen house as the buying teams are so bloody clueless they can fob off all sorts of garbage with minimal effort, fresh in the knowledge that in a few years the results will be so crap that they can rinse and repeat. Thankfully the NHS is nice and politicised so management and support staff are gutted and practically useless as a result.

My wife is a very senior nurse at a huge hospital in Leeds, with high managerial responsibilities, and left-leaning tendencies, she says very similar to the above

I work along side the NHS but employed by Local Authority. It's a nightmare, we cannot even see the same information even though we are working along side the same service user (Patient). Trouble is those who commission software often have no clinical experience and it's price led decision.

Too much change and privatisation has also aided the quagmire of systems and software in the NHS. And for years each NHS and even down individual hospitals were left to modernise into digital age. Which has led to incompatibility. I remember only to well when Blair came to power his government spent billions trying to harmonize NHS IT, massive failure, and it was always going to fail...

And politics and NHS is practiced by sides of the political spectrum. If you want your politics running Governments except the NHS is big part of that if not, go fourth and multiply and play monopoly
