I get your point that she has form with the Rochester comment.

But given her reaction and threats of legal action, I’m minded to think she maybe didn’t say these things.

Plus, I’ve never trusted that Flint one bit. Snidy one her.

I've met Flint at a garden party. Rather milfy I must say. Anyway, I digress.... There is a very big chance that Thornberry did say those things.

Ha. I thought she was a bit milfy in the days of Blair. But that was twenty years ago man. She’s aged a little. Personally, I don’t share the proclivities of Mr Rooney myself.

None of us know for sure if she actually said it. But I imagine there will be no evidence she did and Flint will have to meekly back down and issue an apology. So the official verdict of record will be that Thornberry didn’t say such a thing.

I actually don’t understand why Thornberry provokes such a negative reaction among a lot of people. I’ve always quite liked her. She’s always seemed someone who is kind of fun to me. I’ve always thought I’d enjoy having a pint with her.

She’s put too many backs up with her pro EU stance to have any chance as leader I think.

Yes, I’m sure she would also enjoy having a pint with you, if she knew what a pint was.....

We don't all post condescending puerile crap like this: "...Merely what I pointed out the other day, as you get older, wiser and more experienced you become a Tory..."
Nice one J..might disagree on a few points regarding leave but I think me and you agree on this......I forgot to take the "become more right wing as I get older" pill...respect to you mate. As a fellow left handed guitar player (not in your league though) and Blue...keep on rockin' PM me if you like...

Thornberry is just a really arrogant woman and that's not a trait that I find attractive.

I hope that explains things for you, neil, and what I look for as a lifelong Labour voter. I don't want to see Labour politicians make assholes of themselves again in front of the cameras, which they have done in recent times.

Personality and management will be important. Very controlled interviews, Torys have now set precident, in not doing any of any real note. It's the way to go.

Rather like the military maxim which says, in so many words, that the winner is the one who has the least complicated plans and does the least complicated things, allowing the enemy to make all of the mistakes.

The Tories simple mantra was that they would get Brexit done, and the Labour Party Executive did not address this particular issue and just sat on the fence regarding it, as far as I saw. A fatal mistake, and the Labour heartlands let them know in no uncertain fashion.

Aye, but unlike you some have some thought that’s above the ‘this is what the top brass tell us so it must be true’ and then condescend because you think elections are about winning or losing rather than people’s lives

Elections are only about winning or losing. Winning an election can transform people’s lives. Losing just means you are an observer with the power to do nothing except throw stones and hurl abuse, although that’s what Corbyn and Co seem to enjoy most....
