Oh save the sanctimonious claptrap for someone else, Cat.

When emotions aren't so raw, in a few days, go back and read your recent posts Khal, pretend they were written by a stranger and see what you think then. No offence, but they could quite easily have been written by a Tory who thinks the working class are scum.

Having read stuff of yours before, I'm reasonably sure that's not the real you, but it's the impression you're giving.

Needs a bit of a fact check that.

Since 2005, the adult population has grown by roughly 7 million ( about 10% ). Now, I'd guess that a fair few of those 7 million are EC immigrants, so wouldn't be eligible to vote, but, ignoring that, and taking 2005 and 2019, we're 700k up, which is less, percentage wise, than the percentage increase in the population.

The last resort of the gullible.

Point out the absolute stupidity of what they have done in swallowing the lies of Johnson, Farage et al and the only response is " you are being condescending to me".

That is what happens when people have no sensible reason for acting as they have acted.

Yet the same voters in Labour areas, who I would assume were not stupid while voting for Blair etc, now seem to be stupid in voting for Leave or Tory. They are the same people.

if Labour really wants to understand what has happened then they need to visit places like Sedgefield and Bishop Auckland...

It's unlikely that the members who actually vote for the leader will have learned the lessons. Funny how this brand of Labour's supporters see 2010 and 2015 as a complete rejection of New Labour, despite Brown dropping Blair's progressive plan in cahoots with Balls, Ed Miliband and Watson, and then Miliband going further away from it at the next election.

How is Corbyn still just hanging around with no word coming from the party? Surely swift action is required and a leadership contest would best immediately, or at least very shortly called?

Right now, Corbyn is like Silva after the Norwich defeat. He's done and everyone knows it. He's a lame duck, hanging around like a black cloud and the longer he continues to do so will only hurt the Labour party as a whole.
He should take a long holiday starting now.

Not really. Blair didn't have a "progressive plan", for a start, and seeing as you mention the Brownites it is perhaps worth pointing out that they sabotaged Miliband and Corbyn in the same way as they did Blair himself.

Have you read Blair's book to say he didn't have a plan? I'm aware that the party likes to undermine itself no matter which side the leader happens to be on. That doesn't alter the facts, Brown moved the party away from the path that Blair wanted and then Miliband moved it further and Corbyn went further again.
