Obviously not, but I'm not sure anyone would suggest that Israel should not exist as a predominantly Jewish nation, which is what I always thought Zionism was about. To use it as a slur therefore seems pointlessly provocative. Just talk about the Israeli government if you want to criticise the Israeli government.

I don't follow LP machinations closely, but seriously what would be McDonnell's agenda in undermining him? JM is obviously in a different political league to Corbyn, nor is he a shithouse like Corbyn, so could have binned him off any time if he wanted to lead the party - so it can't be that. Wants to install his own man? Perhaps, but doesn't sound that likely either as JC just does what he's told and is McDonnell's man anyhow.

Zionism is a political creed adhered to by many fundamentalist Jews.

Why should it specifically be predominantly Jewish when other religions live there too? We don’t say the UK should be predominantly Christian.

I've no real interest in the topic mate, but the state was created after the Holocaust to provide a safe place. That does kinda make it different to the UK.
