And that's the problem with Labour roydo, they are more concerned with playing up to their membership, when in reality to win a GE they need to be appealing to people like you.

Wait, weren't we meant to be fuming about how they allegedly ignored the membership (which wants unequivocal Remain) so as not to completely alienate their much, much larger voting base, many of whom support Leave?

Schrodinger's Corbyn, guilty of mutually exclusive sins at the same time.

If only they'd just chosen Someone (........?????) who would have done...... SOMETHING! about Brexit, then this would somehow all go away.

I know mate. But they seem to dismiss any comment from folk like me as being wrong, or Tory Lite, unless one is full square behind their pretty dogmatic mantra. Seems to happen every 10 to 15 years or so.

And it is every ones fault but themselves.

If you want to win a GE you need to appeal to the country, this was the parties chance to do that...……….. now, lets have a show of hands from those who agree with me...………………………all together now "Oh Lou Reed...………….."

I'm a Labour supporter Chris, but it's getting to cult levels in regards to the party and Corbyn.

The one thing I can't get my head around is, it's one thing keeping your own voters happy, but that isn't going to win Labour a GE.

same Lou, voted Labour since the day I could vote. But this is appeasing to a very few and will bury the party and will keep the tories in government for a long time

The next polls should be very interesting. I can see the Lib Dems going comfortably clear of Labour.

But how are they going to win seats under first past the post to get anywhere near the Tories? The cities are red and that is not going to change. Where do the Lib Dems plan on winning? Do you think their policy of ripping up Brexit will be popular outside of the FBPE hashtag on Twitter?

So many of you were running the same lines in 2017. You haven't learned at all.

I see you still haven’t answered the question from this morning.

I see you still haven’t answered the question from this morning.

Oh, was it a serious question? You seemed mostly interested in picking a fight, so I thought I'd let you cool off for a bit.

Yes, the poll I quoted suggests that there is a significant majority of support for eliminating tax exemptions on private schools: https://yougov.co.uk/topics/politic...g-public-support-tackling-private-school-tax-

Granted, it is obviously just a poll, from a few years back, but I don't think there's any reason to doubt the sentiment still holds.

I would be curious to see if you can find a Labour economic policy which does not enjoy broad public support.

On the biggest and most talked about issue Labour are literally trying to appease as much of the country as possible.

Don't believe Brexit will have near as much cut through as many people believe in an election, legally it won't anyway due to Purdah rules. And I still maintain much of that Brexit vote was a protest vote against the status quo.
And not much has changed when it comes Brexit numbers, so presenting a Labour Brexit deal then referendum is pretty much as centre as you can get.
All the Tories and LibDems are doing with Brexit is playing who wants to be in my gang very decisive, neither can reach out to other side and be politically cohesive, so entrenched.

Did you vote for the party that brought you Brexit?

I'm not sure if this relates to their decision re Brexit Roydo, but if they did then is there not a reasonable argument about how they will lose potential floating voters who voted Leave if they went for a full Remain position?

At a practical level, had the Remain motion won, Labour would negotiate a deal that they would then campaign to vote against. That might be popular today, but it will cause enormous problems down the road. I don't think you can ever properly negotiate a deal if you don't believe in it. I certainly couldn't negotiate a deal if I wasn't going to defend what I'd negotiate.

Yet you've got people on here thinking Lib Dem polling is going to go through the roof. It's hilarious to see how desperate they are for Labour to lose.

I can't wait for the election. They've thrown everything they can at Corbyn for 4 years. We haven't even got started on Johnson. His rehearsed lines in the commons might work well with the Tory bully boys jeering behind him but we've already had a taste of how it plays on the streets.

I'm actually bitter because they've just added a free election win to a hard right Boris Johnson Tory government on a silver platter, now with extra garnish.

You on the other hand seem totally not bothered about that and seem more concerned that Tom Watson exists.

I still think they have a chance just because the Tories are going to struggle to get 315 ish seats. But just the fact we are relying on that is a sorry state of affairs when we have had three Tory PMs, one worse than the other.

Labour are certainly turning more people away than they bring in though. Shambles.
