We'll end up mostly speaking about how it relates to Corbyn & anti-semitism within the Labour Party, which is this thread.

Well maybe, but from what I can see of this thread there's hardly anything on it but discussion on zionism and anti-semitism, and very litle on the merits or otherwise of the Labour Party on other issues, which to be honest are probably of more concern to most people.

The discussion has been very much related to Labour and their electability. Haven't you seen the news about claims of anti-semitism within the Labour Party and the accusations Corbyn isn't doing enough about it? Detailed discussions tend to branch out a little, that's the nature of debate. The main topic of the last few pages has been whether zionism can be openly named & discussed, this is a topic very much at the heart of the Labour anti-semitism debate as Corbyn has shown signs he would be sympathetic to the Palestinian cause should he be PM.

Comrade, I have been actively campaigning with the BDS movement for years. I'm a huge opponent of, what I believe to be an apartheid state, Israel. I am vehemently anti-racist, and as such am anti-Zionist.

Moreover, I have gone door to do with Jewish members of the Labour Party and have been fortunate to attend JLM events at University. I am a huge opponent of all forms of racism, and as such I believe anti-Semities need to be removed from positions within civil society.

It's not a black and white thing.
It would help if we the general public were aware of the terms on which Labour Party members were being accused of Antisemitism. Is Hatton's banning the base line?
Or should we count this: Following the September 2016 Labour Party conference, when Walker proposed extending Holocaust Memorial Day to include pre 1940 genocides such as the Atlantic slave trade, she was suspended from party membership at the end of September.

'sake.

More of the rats are going to put the blocks on themselves leaving the party now.

SS uniform wearing sympathiser Tom Watson says that the new group "in the party" will discuss and attempt to shape policy. In other words, it's a challenege to Corbyn without the third leadership election they know theyd be 'kin crushed in. They want to run the party as a cabal.

When are Corbyn and McDonald going stop worrying about some post-Brexit general election and keeping the party together with the neo-Blairites? Let the Tories win it and own Brexit's disastrous consequences, and just GTF on deselectiing these disgraceful free market interlopers from the LP.

This is why everyone despairs at Labour. The level of flip flopping is utterly crazy. It was the same with the immigration bill.

The idea is for everyone to despair at Labour.

Look at last night, in which at least two very senior Labour politicians explicitly said this (2nd referendum) would involve a Remain option, the briefing material for Corbyn’s speech said it explicitly and Peter Kyle (no friend of Corbyn) both said Corbyns speech committed Labour to 2nd ref and he’d been working with the leadership on it for weeks. This followed months of clear movement towards a 2nd ref as each of the alternatives in the conference resolution were tried and failed.

Instead, one part of media claims an unnamed source says something that flies in the face of everything and the rest reports it as fact.

Labour are so confused, what a disgrace, you can’t trust them unlike the glorious TIG crowd etc etc etc

This guy knows what a narrative is.

To be fair, I'm not sure anyone has really suggested there is a port in this particular storm, and certainly not the TIG.

Certainly not them, no.

They were claiming last night that this both wasn’t a change in Labour policy (Berger) and that TIG had forced them into changing Labour policy (Umunna), but of course they don’t have any “unnamed spokesmen” so the media didn’t notice this confusion.
