When successive Israeli governments talk of a jewish homeland and uphold de facto zionist policies the inference (because the charge here is an inference) is that their actions are done in the name of jews.
That would be why jews would be asked to condemn it, the 'not in my name' protest.
Plenty of orthodox jews inside Israel protest against zionism by governments as being anti jewish/judaism.
There are plenty of catholics remain quiet about child abuse until prompted.
But above all else the iggest divisive factor in all this is religion itself. Death cults.

As Israel is the only Jewish state people will inevitably associate Israel with Jews. This is obviously an issue but I don’t think it represents a hatred of Jewish people which it is often represented as.

If Everton players started spitting at other teams’ players. It wouldn’t be the fault of Everton fans but I would still expect the fans to make clear they’re not happy with it. We expect players to represent us better than that.

It was a statement made on Twitter. You don’t think anyone else on Twitter has ever asked people from any group to urge their leaders to act differently? In an age of austerity, climate change, war, Trump etc...

It does if you know what you are saying can be seen as anti-semitic and keep doing it. People should not be asked to account for the actions of other people based solely on them being seen as belonging to the same group. Thats it.

If people don’t believe what they are saying is wrong then it is not necessarily wrong to continue saying it. People can have different opinions on things whilst still not hating Jews.

As per the bold bit: Tell that to the people that accuse the Labour Party of being institutionally racist and anti-Semitic based on the actions of a tiny minority.

It is wrong. If it isn't wrong, what you are saying is that any speech is ok as long as the person uttering it doesn't believe that what they are saying is wrong, which is a ludicrous position.

No, I said it’s not necessarily wrong to continue saying it. Depends what is being said. Context is important obviously.
